I want to see Trump charged with election interference and treason for his collaboration with Putin in the same election interference operations.

How about standing down those 9 gun barrels intended for a democatic hero and use them for a positive acton to save democracy and rid the planet of excess garbage.

Any ideas on the "9" barrels as opposed to "a (1) barrel " ? I am not looking for mansplaining nor thug splaining but, would not rule out cognitive dysfunction.

I thought that might be the number of people typically in a firing squad. But I don’t know that can’t imagine how he would.

Update on "9 Shot". My Pixel 8 'AI' says "9 shot" refers to the WEIGHT of the shotgun pellets.

Thus, I agree with Professor Lawrence Tribe's legal conclusion that Wreck has committed a crime. Under AZ AG investigation.

I will defer to the AZ "Giffords Law Center" on the issues related to violent gun threats at any time against any person in the State of Arizona

Unfortunately, not with AG Garland at the helm...wait for a Kamala Harris appointment who really, really understand the criminal and constitutional threat tRump presents as long as he is on the loose, but who won't stand idly by coz "optics".

TRump's day of reckoning will come, full stop.

We need a Putin day of reconning too. He is way too involved in fighting the US with every means necessary.

Yes, Garland has been a major disappointment. Republicans shouldn't have killed his SCt nom, where he'd have been much better.

How about Mark Elias for President Harris's AG?

Trump and his allies have been running a shadow government for years. They must be held accountable in court trials. I believe it's under the Logan Act.

It doesn't seem very shadow when he can 'force' (with no doubt "yuge threats" to not endorse or campaign for them) people to not vote for what they had approved like on immigration. It's crazy and disconcerting.

Here is what Spy Talk says about Russian election interference and what one should be looking out for.

Linda, did you hear that Russia has been planting incendiary devices on planes to disrupt flights to here on US and Canada-bound planes? Obviously, they have Russian agents creating sabotage. CIA and Interpol and multiple security agencies, I believe, have working together for more than 6 months to identify the evildoers.

Expand full comment

No Marlene. It hasn't come up in Spy Talk or Counterintelligence, or I missed it. I agree that it is obvious that there are agents doing all sorts of things in all sorts of elections. I am grateful that Moldova prevailed. I really would like to see the EU nip Orban in the bud. Making things unpleasant enough in Hungary that he gets outsted would be good.

Yes, wouldn’t that be nice? I think CNN reported the Russia device story. One of my daughters told me about it.

I'm glad DC seems prepared this time. I am very anxious. I live in a red county, very red neighborhood, and we have the only Harrs-Walz sign. So I'm also afraid of my maga neighbors. Thank you for keeping us informed and for sharing the emotional support chickens.

Sandra, thanks to you for keeping the blue in the midst of the red. The reds, your neighbors need to know there is someone on their street who actually cares about their community and this nation while they are bemused by Trump and his crew.

Your not alone in that situation Sandra. Same situation in rural Florida.

It's not just people with political signs but also people of color etc. Trump has accused anyone that doesn't agree with him as the enemy. Look what he's done to the Haitians etc. I could go on but I'm sure we all know what I'm trying to say.

Please see my response to Sandra; thank you for your courage.

I salute your quiet courage. You may not win a 'Profiles in Courage Award' but its spirit belongs to you.

Your bravery in standing up for your principles and that of democracy in the face of your “Red Sea” of neighbors is commendable. Hopefully your neighbors (or most of them) are more leveled headed than their being maga supporters might indicate. Keep taking those deep breaths. Something I (perhaps all of us) need to do as well. Hang in there Sandra. We got your back.

We're not prepared in DC. The WH and VP's home are. Howard University is. The rest of us are told by our mayor and the Chief of Police to "remain flexible" - I get it. Unless there are specific threats, other than 1/6 and Inauguration, not much is being done. High anxiety abounds.

¡Hear, here! Frankly, Senator Vance frightens me more than candidate Trump; at least, the latter is unlikeable. Many educated people I know who are voting for candidate Trump either do not respect him or / and do not like him. One thing Senator Alcibiades has done that has been very effective -- as a slam against Vice President Harris (for not meeting the press) -- has been often to take questions from the press.

At least a couple of times, I recall hearing him mention the reporter's name on whom he was calling. That slip, if true, and the T-ball nature of many of the questions (i.e., to align tightly with elements of the Senator's campaign spiel) have induced me to wonder if these reporters and questions are planted.

In the hopes of raising spirits, I'm adding a happy moment on the NYC subway today - a very young South American girl was going from car to car selling candy. People were all politely saying 'no thank you'. She said sown on the bench across from me and the woman next to the young girl reached in her bag and pulled out some bills and gave them to the young girl, with a smile. I then followed suit. Then the woman sitting next to me did the same. It was a wonderful and silent show of support for this young immigrant - who I wish did not have to do this and could be in school instead. Leaving the subway I told the first-giver how much I admired her gesture - she said 'well it's important that they know someone is on their side.' Anyway just relaying that here because it was so uplifting - which Americans can be when they listen to their better angels.

I do, Cynthia. My dad was a WWII vet who fought in the Pacific Theater for 4 years. Before that, he was a victim of the Holocaust who found his way to America. He wanted to give back to the country who allowed him freedom and to thrive. My husband is a Vietnam Vet who said he learned discipline but, of course, fighting in a war you were lied to about has taken its toll on him and many others. So yes, I am grateful for both of them and everyone else who fought in 20th Century wars.

This 77 y.o. woman voted her first time for Gene McCarthy in the primary. It was such a proud vote. THIS vote feels monumental. When my young (18 y.o.) cousin cast her first vote this year for Kamala, she sent me a picture. In it, she had tears in her eyes. I cannot possibly understand why the justice system isn’t doing their job to stop Elon Musk from posting Russian propaganda and disinformation PLUS buying in plain sight votes for Trump. Be courageous, do your civic duty and take someone to the polls with you, if you haven’t already voted. We need to get this one right.

My feeling is that MAGA isn’t so much interested in their vote as they are in keeping Harris voters from voting, or messing up voting venues to increase the chaos, and prevent votes from being tallied efficiently. They will be coming to muck up the process. So be prepared, go to the polls and plan on staying as long as it takes. Dress for the weather, bring water, snacks and every conceivable form of ID and proof of citizenship. Make a plan and do it now. This could be the last free and fair election we get.

We can worry about what comes next (certification etc.) tomorrow.

I actually had an opportunity to have some civil discourse this morning with my grocery cashier. When I reminded her to vote, I found out she's not registered, so I gave her information about what she would need to register and also told her that if she wants change, the way to get it is to vote. I'm not sure about same day registration in Texas, but she said she would look it up when she got off work. It felt good to have that conversation. Then on my way home, I took the time to read the trump flag at a stop sign, and it said "Take America Back". Back from democrats or back to the dark ages|? Not sure which one they mean or if it means both?
