This morning I joined April Ryan for Coffee with the Contrarians. We discussed the day’s news—there was a deluge over the weekend, including an appellate court that pumped the brakes on Trump’s ballroom project—and ended with a little history of the abolitionists and Martha’s Vineyard, since April is technically on vacation.
This was my first Substack Live from a car, but Bob let me know last night it was time for us to pick up our dogs, who’d been off for a little training. Happy to report that we are with them now, and the trainer is in the process of working with Bob and me; we clearly need it more than the girls did. But we’re all super happy to be reunited and working together—no one likes having a job to do as much as a German Shepherd and they both seem really happy to be showing off their new skills for us.
