Any gastroenterologist on the Substack please weigh in.:) hasn’t been time for me to have another colonoscopy this year, but I did find the mayo ultrasound for an older friend who had never had a colonoscopy, she is 85 years old and bleeding. She was adamant about not having a colonoscopy. I found the virtual colonoscopy for her and she’s having it on May 15.
The problem is, of course, if a suspicious polyp is found which is usually removed during a standard colonoscopy, you'll still have to undergo the standard procedure.
Thank you. Extremely good information. I do up for the camera and the new drink stuff that isn’t so horrid for an all nighter. This very unusual relative has some signs of trouble and refused a colonoscopy and finally I was able to schedule the virtual ultrasound. She knows what’s really going on. I think we’ll have some leverage. Thank you so much, Dale.
If I'm ever required to undergo another colonoscopy (I won't do it voluntarily), I would pay the money for the new prep. As one who had polyps removed at her last colonoscopy, I agree with what Dale said. Personally, I'd rather get it all taken care of at once, to cut down on the ridiculous number of doctor visits one can require in old age.

That was a little late! I had "both ends" covered, so I was right for the full day!
This was sometime ago, at 50. The Prep was called, Go Lightly" and I added, go often! I think the idea besides a clean view was to tirer you out so you didn't have any fight left in you! Haha. I did get a compliment on what a good job I did and the only joke a GI knows when doing the 2nd view from the upper GI,"don't worry, we cleaned the instrument. "
I fasted, eating no solid food at all, only drinking clear liquids, such as chicken broth, apple juice and lemon popsicles, for 2 days before the prep day. It made such a difference! There was no cramping or sitting on the commode for hours on end. 👍
When my husband had his first colonoscopy, the nurse didn't get the iv into his vein, but just under the skin. During the procedure he kept saying he felt everything - and they kept giving him more drugs without checking the iv. When the procedure was over, he was so stoned from the drugs that he could barely dress himself - and spent the next 24 hours going in and out of being loopy. The doctor did not even apologize. Needless to say, we found another doctor!
Look hard enough, truly a blessing and thankful heart will come. A clonoscopy can kill a congestive heart patient. I wish I could laugh wholeheartedly.
I thought they were yellow which seems odd. Given he likes a lot of gold surrounding him. Maybe they were pale gold color, but we need to find out definitively on this.
Let us hope von trump will be nailed. Because on the front of mar a lago secret documents it is not tomorrow we'll get any trial. Incredible. Corrupt Cannon must be removed
Before going to the 11th circuit Smith has to have a legally sound argument. At every turn she has thwarted him by kicking the can down the road and not making final rulings that he can appeal.
I heard Neal Katyal, excellent legal analyst, say that Jack Smith still doesn't have enough to go to the 11th Circuit. I don't get it, but I trust Neal. It's our justice system that's messed up.
Judges have a lot of power. Republicans have always known this and voted accordingly. Democrats not so much. Her rulings are not appealable. She’s being much craftier this time.
ugh... so many Judges with no sense of decorum or character... we need to get another blue wave 🌊🌊 to dominate Congress and then pass legislation that implements a better system of accountability and punishments (besides losing Judgeship).
I don’t think Judge Cannon is getting any smarter; I think she’s getting help from craftier people on the sidelines like The Federalist Society and such.
Wondering now about how Cannon got the luck of the draw on the spin of the Florida wheel with 4 judges' names on it for this case? Sounds like a county fair game I always lost.
Yes, but she can be impeached, convicted, and then investigated and prosecuted. It couldn't happen overnight or by next Tuesday, maybe 3 years at the least. But it could happen, but only if Biden fires Sister Mary Garland and if the Democrats could revive the DOJ and abandon their feckless and pusillanimous attitudes about prosecuting corrupt members of Congress by filling criminal complaints, (6 year statute of limitations for felonies over Jan6) and judicial misconduct.
it is very difficult to get a judge removed, the bar is high for DC 11, and although she is a new judge, and made mistakes, she is most certainly coached by very sharp lawyers/judges/ as to how close she can surf the limit of what she can do for Trump. It is a farce. She will not take what she does to Paradise that's for sure.
Can't Smith argue that there's a clear pattern to her rulings and foot dragging that indicate bias and/or ineptitude? The appellate court already were scathing about her. Maybe they are teed up to do something if only Smith would ask for her removal...?🙏🙏🙏
From what he tweeted today, it seems it can go both ways as to the DOJ decision
He is so smart and such a brilliant mind from his years at The Hague tracking high war criminals, I am like totally trusting whatever moves they will do
It’s not just about Trump, it’s about a faction of extremists with non-respect for Rule of Law and Constitution
She did make an appealable order when she ordered both prosecution and defense to write jury instructions for her before the trial. She wanted them to write about some thing that was illegally done so the only way they could write about it was in the sense that they approved what had happened. Jack Smith immediately complained about it, but he didn’t appeal to the 11th. Then she had to backtrack.it was kind of a trap that she was setting, but he was pretty smart. She also has ignored the case law he has written about and enough incident like that and he can appeal to the 11th.
Problem with the "jury instruction" business was that it was a request based on hypothetical situations. While it could easily be viewed as an alarming suggestion of her intent, it didn't quite rise to a confident mandamus or removal appeal to the 11th Circuit because of its "theoretical" nature.
Argue to whom ? Remember, Smith asked the sup court to take up the immunity issue, they said no. trump asked them they said yes. Nothing left except "We the People" in Nov.
Wondering now about how Cannon got the luck of the draw on the spin of the Florida wheel with 4 judges' names on it for this case? Sounds like a county fair game I always lost.
Because he was keeping his powder dry, in my opinion, for a really opportune time, which she is making sure doesn't come, i.e., an appealable order. I simply can't imagine a reasonable judge, 18 months or so in to a case, would not have held several important motions hearings by now and made orders that he could appeal. But she hasn't. Maybe (not being an attorney) I'm missing something, but she is holding back on things that other judges would have done waaaaay sooner than this.
Seems like democracy should have a special power to spray these cockroach federalist society nests. So our only alternative is 2/3 Democratic House & Senate. Let's Go Girls.
"This is the case in which the U.S. government accuses Trump of retaining hundreds of classified documents that compromised the work of the Central Intelligence Agency, which provides intelligence on foreign countries and global issues; the Department of Defense, which provides military forces to ensure national security; the National Security Agency, which collects intelligence from communications and information systems; the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, which provides intelligence from imagery; the National Reconnaissance Office, which operates satellites and reconnaissance systems; the Department of Energy, which manages nuclear weapons; and the Department of State, including the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, which provides intelligence to U.S. diplomats. "
Cannon has thrown this case into the deep freezer, at least until she sees the results of the November elections: tRump loses, case goes fast-track; tRump wins, it's over anyway, and more delays until a new AG makes it official, i.e., we're done here, y'all go home.
Unfortunately, with the MAGAts in the House of Representatives and the traitors in the Senate ( Manchin and Sinema) impeachment would never happen. Cannon should never have been appointed and seated in the first place. She's clearly biased.🤬
Paper trail with the handwritten notes of payments in Weisselberg’s handwriting and notes and testimony of McConney wraps that up in a nice bow.
Daniel’s testimony was very detailed. Probably more than I needed or wanted to know. 🤮
I think we are on the right track in this case and hope it continues.
It needs to be said that even if don ends up in prison, we really need to continue to save our Democracy. I am quite sure one of dons’s MAGA leaders will step in and run. Important we get out the vote and when the time comes VOTE BLUE UP and DOWN the BALLOT.
Thank you Joyce for sharing your wisdom with us. We appreciate it.
Daniels testimony is what we needed to hear. She's a tough cookie, you should watch the documentary. Smarter than Drumpf, with a scholarship to college, she didn't go because of the financial lure of the porn industry. Playing to the testosterone laden for a way out of a trailer park. While wanting to be an equine vet.
I know equine vets. She would have been a very good one.
About a MAGA leader running in Trump's stead (and actually getting anywhere): I don't see it happening, even if Trump is convicted before the Republican Convention. Trump's power is overwhelmingly *personal*. Can that be transferred to someone else? I don't think so. We've already seen how divided the MAGA forces are, in Congress and elsewhere. The Project 2025 people would probably love to promote one of their own as a candidate, instead of having to line up behind Trump, but Leonard Leo and the rest of them like to work in the shadows. The overwhelming majority of USians couldn't identify any of them. I don't believe MAGA is going to fade away if Trump gets locked up or otherwise disappears from the scene -- its roots were there long before he came along -- but I don't think it will be the national threat that it is now.
I heard today that in some cases, defense counsel did NOT object, but Judge Merchan stopped the witness and called out the defense for NOT objecting! This leads me to think that the Defense strategy was to 1) let the offensive testimony slip in, so that they could call for a mistrial, and/or 2) set up an appeal for ineffectiveness of counsel. If so, Merchan calling them out should, and did, mitigate both strategies, because they've been reminded that they need to do their jobs, and not rely on technicalities to get their client off.
Wow! I would feel sorry for the trumpster's lawyers if they weren't so well paid. It seems like the prosecution is making all the right moves. Thanks, Joyce, you are a National treasure.
If these people were smart enough to get thru law school, presumably they're smart enough not to begin working for Trumpet without a massive retainer upfront. (That wasn't a typo; I refer to him as Trumpet because 'blowing his own horn' seems to be the only thing he's good for.)
Joyce, thanks for this recap. This trial is fascinating, it's like getting a glimpse inside trump's head as all these witnesses testify about his micromanaging; etc.
I have a question. The ruling that Cannon made today, removing the trial date in the documents case. What recourse, if any, does Jack Smith have? There doesn't seem to be an order to be appealed.
“Trump barely paid his legitimate bills”? You are giving him way too much credit. He stiffed his subcontractors constantly, including one who was a friend of my parents and refused to do business with him again.
Yes, it was a very bad day for the Former Guy. So who else to-the-rescue but, Injustice Aileen Cannon?
To create a digital distraction, the Loose Cannon took jack Smiths May 20th Trial on the stolen hidden, waterlogged, fan club flash cards --- "Classified Documents" case OFF calendar, INDEFINITELY.
Thanks so much Joyce. I missed most of the coverage today so I appreciate your insights. Plus this way I didn’t have to listen to the grossness! I do feel sorry for his grandchildren. So sad. But what is worse is how his followers are believing his continued lies. Thanks for all you do to help keep the rest of us sane!! All the best
I swear I didn’t mean to blow up Xeeter with my Xeet that Stormy’s testimony lasted longer than he did 🤣. But I needed that after a bad week, my pain off the charts for days and I stayed home on my birthday cause of the latter. What really ticks me off is paid court shill Cannon putting the trial off indefinitely cause she’s too lazy to rule on motions. I hope Jack can finally bump this to the appeals court.
So essentially the defense argument about those so-called prejudicial details is they make the defendant out to be even more of a sorry-assed liar and crook. The Trattoria Trump is starting to run out of pasta to throw at the courtroom wall. Think it must be on cavatelli by now.
Why don’t they create an AD about the fact that Trump LIES so much , it is listed in Wikipedia that he lied over 30,573 times during his presidency?
They grilled Stormy Daniel’s about her credibility. Maybe someone should Google Trump’s lies and state that to color the juror’s minds. He is lying again that it didn’t happen.
Please get this to the prosecutors or to Hakeem Jeffries. We need to remind everyone that Trump LIES!
This case is likely the only case that the public with “hear” before the election. I am getting worried!
And isn’t it ironic that numerous people in his cabinet and those he was linked to were criminally indicted?
Why isn’t anyone talking about how Trump is a notorious LIAR?
The prosecution’s case should speak for itself without any words or finger-pointing. They are trying to prove, without a reasonable doubt, that they have proven Trump lied about his business records before and while he was president. What Joyce has written and all of the testimony, so far, their case is very good. Stormy has been forthright, even though some of the details might be kind of cringy. In my opinion, that’s what the jury should listen to as she is not a prostitute. She thought Trump might further her career.
To my mind this is the easiest part of the case to establish. What seems like it might be more difficult is to establish that theses payments constituted a felony, since hush money payments per se are not illegal.
But, these payments prove his motive was to keep this secret while he was already in office of the presidency, also. Let’s not forget that. He was supposed to have removed himself from any private business dealings while accepting the role of president but he didn’t. He is a felon because he lied about his business and he committed fraud. That is what the crux of the case is about.
Indeed... this is Spot-on🎯. Speaking of the Emoluments clause... after the exploits of der Trumper, it seems obvious that it needs to be re-crafted and far more strongly fortified. 💯😎
If Trump decides to testify - and that is a big if - his credibility can be attacked. The prosecution is doing a darn good job in my opinion. What does Jeffries have to do with the case?
Great summary, but I've got a question about these two sentences: "Daniels’ testimony was a necessity for the prosecution. Despite the uncertainty her testimony presented—she [Stormy Daniels] is no friend to them—without it, the jury would have had questions about why she didn’t testify." Who's "them," as in "no friend to them"? Context suggests it's the prosecution, but what does that signify? She's not a hostile witness, is she?
I understood that it was the prosecution she was no friend to. But she's clearly not a friend to the defense. I'm thinking she must be somewhere between being a friendly or a hostile witness.

The image of Orange 1 lounging (sprawling, spreading ?) in black silk or satin pjs is about as erotic as a colonoscopy.
Omg! I spit my drink lol. And don’t be so mean to colonoscopies!!
😆😆 dying...
I actually don't mind a colonoscopy. You get good drugs, go to sleep, wake up after it's all over. They give you a blanket out of the warmer, and bring you a beverage and a warm muffin.
It's not the actual colonoscopy that's the problem. It's the prep.
Yes, that image of DJT is more like the prep. Enough to make you gag.
A new prep is about $100 but worth the money. A small drink - no all nighter. Also,Mayo clinic initiated an ultrasound colonoscopy that’s called a virtual colonoscopy. Of course there’s no camera inside no prep and it is shown to be equally as effective as the internal camera. it’s marvelous for elderly, who are afraid of getting poked by the camera and puncturing their intestine wall. The ultrasound is covered by the same insurances. So it takes that fair out, but it is vastly more friendly. Any gastroenterologist on the Substack please weigh in.:) hasn’t been time for me to have another colonoscopy this year, but I did find the mayo ultrasound for an older friend who had never had a colonoscopy, she is 85 years old and bleeding. Well there is certainly that!
Very interesting... the Mayo really is a top innovator... up there with MGH and others here in Boston. I am "overdue" to get a colonoscopy... going to enquire about this approach.
I'm looking into cologuard. I'm not too proud to shit in a box.
Hmm.. Will check it out. 👍👍
Here we go, off topic again. What's wrong with you people?
Seriously? please lighten up... no need for the ""thread police" here... a slight diversionary intra-community small thread is of no harm, eh?
That's fantastic. Hope I can find that here when it's time for me to have my next one.
Yes, I call it the Guantanamo torture fluid.
I was awake for much of it. The only pain is when the camera goes around the bend, from the descending to the transverse. It's after then that I was knocked out.
Been there…
That was a little late!
Strange, autocorrect took out"high" and replaced with 'right'. Sheesh,PC enough little search engine?
I fasted, eating no solid food at all, only drinking clear liquids, such as chicken broth, apple juice and lemon popsicles, for 2 days before the prep day. It made such a difference! There was no cramping or sitting on the commode for hours on end. 👍
Try Su-prep. One gulp and it's over
I didn't get a warm muffin . . . ):
I know. Where are they giving those out? But the warm blankets are wonderful. How do doctors work in those frigid freezing cold operating rooms?
Keeps them awake during the probing. Same reason trump's courtroom is so cold.
😅😂🤣
I only got the messy underwaer after! Go figure!
Well there's that. Eww haha!
I woke up in the middle, facing the monitor. It looked like they were hosing down the Lincoln Tunnel.
Thanks for the hearty laugh your comment caused me MD.
That’s awful!
I can't stop laughing, Laurie. This is hilarious. Your husband probably didn't think it funny at all!
Funny.
Then you’re all cleaned out and ready to squeeze out some more Trumphs.
Can’t beeeeet. Dadt
Love the comment!
😆😆.. just thinking of TFG generates a lot of 💩
LOL

Not that it matters but his vanity would have required Hugh Hefner black.
LOL (an outloud involuntary snort)!
In fairness (why not?), he wasn't quite the walrus he is now.
That is one big cancerous polyp
oh Dale, that is a wonderful post lol
Brilliant. And accurate. And seriously ick.

Of all the DJT trials, this is the one about possible treason to country, and we have this judge…
The Federalist Society planted their judges perfectly!
Indeed !!!!
By Lucian K. Truscott IV! Which makes that article even more interesting, doesnt it? Someone with quite the reputation for integrity, etc.
YES!
Because he was keeping his powder dry, in my opinion, for a really opportune time, which she is making sure doesn't come, i.e., an appealable order. If so, Merchan calling them out should, and did, mitigate both strategies, because they've been reminded that they need to do their jobs, and not rely on technicalities to get their client off.
Probably the bloated yam's suggestion to let it go and then object at the end.
He was probably not so secretly getting off on hearing the details again....
Love the "bloated yam" image!
Wow! I would feel sorry for the trumpster's lawyers if they weren't so well paid. It seems like the prosecution is making all the right moves. Thanks, Joyce, you are a National treasure.
Do you really think he’ll pay them?
I don't think he pays for anything he doesn't want to.
If these people were smart enough to get thru law school, presumably they're smart enough not to begin working for Trumpet without a massive retainer upfront. (That wasn't a typo; I refer to him as Trumpet because 'blowing his own horn' seems to be the only thing he's good for.)
I can’t even bear to use his name. You are kinder than I am.
He doesn't need to Marlo, his donors are illicitly paying his legal bills for him.
lol
We need Whistleblowers to come forward.
I expect his grandchildren are as lost as his father was. Sterilizing drumpf skids would have been a kindness. End it right here.
I don't think it's laziness, Rusty; I think it's a well-planned strategy to keep Jack from going to the 11th Circuit.
Somebody from the Federalist Society is mentoring Cannon!
Yup. But I suspect she is stalling quite willingly:

No doubt!
Thinking of you Rusty!
Thank you! I had a decent day finally.
Rinse and repeat!
Like Trump might say, the prosecution is building a wall!😮
So essentially the defense argument about those so-called prejudicial details is they make the defendant out to be even more of a sorry-assed liar and crook. The Trattoria Trump is starting to run out of pasta to throw at the courtroom wall. Think it must be on cavatelli by now.
I think that’s right. And if the jury has an accurate picture of him it will be unfair and prejudicial.
**Correction: take without out! Should have read: beyond.*
Kinda thought you'd tweak that.. your comments are always so well crafted. 👍
Awww…what a sweet thing to say! My fingers did the talking for my brain.😊
I hope those jurors are smart and unbiased. But how can you have a brain and not be biased? It only takes one to tank this case.
They’re smart. They’re New Yorkers!
No way!
We all know, Marlo. The trumpanzees would love to be able to do it too. They live their wickedness vicariously through him.
Sad so many in this country have no wits and no self respect.
Love "trumpanzees"!! Maybe that's easier to swallow than "deplorables"? Thanks for making me smile.
Feel free to steal, I did
Great summary, but I've got a question about these two sentences: "Daniels’ testimony was a necessity for the prosecution.
I didn’t understand those sentences, either.
No friend to the defense I would assume
I had the same question...
I understood that it was the prosecution she was no friend to. But she's clearly not a friend to the defense. I'm thinking she must be somewhere between being a friendly or a hostile witness.
That's what I inferred from context -- my question was about what that meant, what it was based on.
Point taken.
Posted my poem about today!
