I've started reading your blog with interest. While reading today, I was wondering about the typos, is something wrong? Your photo of your cat in front of your computer turned me into a paid subscriber! You don't have to ask how I know.

Very good news here. We found out last night that we flipped the third congressional district in Washington from red to blue! With so many of the actions you describe, we helped Marie Gluesenkamp Perez defeat a very scary MAGA poster boy, Joe Kent. Marie is an authentic voice for people who work too hard to get ahead or even to make a living in rural areas, the trades and blue collar jobs. We are so very proud to have her representing us!

I am also from the WA 3rd district and I am also thrilled that Marie Perez defeated the MAGA poster boy. That made my weekend.

Thank you, Joyce Vance, for liking my comment! A coda. Try creating a Facebook ad campaign to get out Democratic votes: 1) when you haven't done it before; 2) while Meta is changing its rules about political and social issues advertising; 3) when Meta's algorithm suddenly finds that your political ads are somehow improper employment ads and you have to fix this and can't bring up a chat, etc., 4) one of those ads comes back from a human reviewer who types "lol" after your caption while rejecting it (any MAGAs in there???). Well, on a small budget, the ads produced 135K impressions, over 700 engagements, over 500 click throughs to voter registration, and the great unknown, which is how many Democrats were reminded of the urgent need to vote for our freedoms, to protect the planet, to honor teachers who are facing censorship, and so much more.

BTW, our cat's name is Ranger. He's a very loving tuxedo kitty who has trained us to give him lots of lap time and to bribe him with treats if he wants to stay in and we want to go out.

Yes, all typos are always the nefarious result of those pushy kitties. Sweetie is doing her best right now (as I retype those last three words).

Hopefully the networks will give The Big Announcement the coverage it deserves, which is none.

Agreed! I hope the saner side of the media doesn't cover it because we all know the malignant narcissist loves free attention. They really need to stop covering his daily whines and idiotic announcements.

And PLEASE continue to write postcards for Warnock! Aside from the fact that he is a great candidate and Herschel Walker is a jerk, one more Democrat in the Senate is a buffer against the likes of Manchen and Sinema

You might want to try again. I checked the site just now, and it seems to be up and running. They're scrambling. We've been writing Vote Forward letters. Their addresses are quickly getting subscribed. Just think of it. These organizations with active volunteers that have been aiming postcarding and letter writing at many election races all coming into focus for Rev. Warnock.

I hope the democrats take the house even thou I am not a democrat because I want to see the Jan 6. Committee finish there investigation and we can know the truth of what happen on that very dark day in our history when some people try to stop the will of the people after a fair election. I am afraid if the republicans win they will stop it. Thank you Joyce for diligent work on keeping us informed

Just because democrats have secured 50 seats in the senate doesn’t mean the Georgia runoff is superfluous. 51 senators means democrats don’t have to negotiate rules and leave important procedures on the table. Democrats would have majorities on each committee. And let’s face it, many senators are old. With only 50 senate seats we are one heartbeat from losing control with only a p seats. So do everything you can to help win the Georgia runoff. Let’s make the VP the spare.

I didn't give a second thought to typos. I completely missed them on this early morning overseas. I have been focused on the governor's race in Arizona. I thought Kari Lake was particularly toxic earlier this week when she was dragging John McCain's name through the mud, and then some. I think regardless of the outcome, if she loses, she will not concede. There will most probably have to be a recount. John McCain did not represent my views but I think he was a decent human being and definitely a war hero. I don't know how Arizonans can support a person who is spewing such toxicity, having had John McCain as their senator. That said, I am overjoyed that we were able to keep the Senate!

Regarding Sen. Warnock, in 2020 besides writing many letters for the presidential election, I wrote a number of letters to voters for Warnock and made a contribution to his campaign. I will be doing the same now. I read another note here about someone sending postcards that were not presently available. I have worked with the group VoteForward.com and it's very easy. You register and they ask how many letters you would like to write. It can be as few as 5 or as many as you want. I just signed up for 20. Since I'm in Germany, I will not be able to send them until I'm back home next week. Each person who writes letters gets the names and the letters to download, and pays for the envelopes and postage. Joyce, thank you for always being an uplifted voice for us. Much appreciated.

FYI. Maryland 2022 GOP Attorney General candidate, Michael A. Peroutka, says he'll not concede even though his opponent leads by over 300,000 votes. From WaPo story below:

...

Rep. Anthony G. Brown (D-Md.), who was projected as the winner in the race by the AP, will become the state’s first Black attorney general. Brown’s spokesperson declined to comment on Peroutka’s allegations.

...

As of late Thursday afternoon Brown had 908,961 votes, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections results website. Peroutka had 601,992.

...

Peroutka "opposed abortion without exceptions, was against same-sex marriage, said that public schools were part of a socialist plan to indoctrinate children against their parents, and would not disavow his association with the League of the South, which the Southern Poverty Law Center has categorized as a hate group." [See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_of_the_South}

So what is the fallout for not conceding? People who don't concede can complain about it, but what more can they do (if there is no fraud) except maybe make life more difficult for people who have to listen to them complaining?

Serious question: It's been a debate with Angry_Staffer, the only other person I follow on Twitter, though that is subject to change if it melts down to nothing, about where to stash trump once he is convicted of one or more of his many crimes. Someone had mentioned Camp David would work well, and I thought so, too, but another place has popped in my head just now. Could we possibly stash him away in one of our CIA black sites? To me, that would certainly be a good comeuppance for him, especially if he did indeed sell out the dozen or so spies we had around the world a couple of yrs ago. Don't you think it would be fitting? I mean, we never heard or saw Noriega again, did we? That would solve SO many problems. No more blather from him at all, and quite possibly a warning to those like Steve Bannon or Roger Stone and others who work terribly hard at tearing down our republic/democracy. Just a thought. Thanks. Now, let's win some of those close House races and keep it, too, for Biden and the country! Oh, and how remarkable was President Obama in his speeches around the country? I mean WOW!

I have no objection to a Black Site. But CAMP DAVID!!! The presidential retreat!?!? Perish the thought! Why should that Bum stay there for an instant as a punishment? I understand he doesn’t like the place but why defile a place of relative presidential rest with his breath?!

Bad idea. Stick with the Black Site idea.

Evening Joyce. The heavens surely heard our pleas to save Democracy this week. I am hopeful of positive outcomes in the House whatever the outcome remembering what Biden accomplished with things often appearing against his agenda for the people. He never swayed and has always had remarkable courage. It appears we’re building a united front to combat adversity. Indeed a Thanksgiving to remember and be reminded of our strength and determination. Thanks for your update and never tiring support.
