Is there a reason Nauta hasn’t moved to separate his trial from the former guy’s trial? It seems to me that would be a no-brainer. I can’t imagine why Nauta would want to be tied to the same trial process if he could separate himself from tfg’s.

Because if he were to separate from tfg, there goes payment for his lawyers, plus who knows what else he's been promised. Nauta is not considering the possible longterm consequences. He probably believes that tfg will be in a position to pardon both of them.

He may wish to stay as close as possible to his hero. Just imagine his getting to sit at the same defense table as his "illustrious" boss. rofl
Good question.
