A few minutes before 10 p.m. Eastern on Thursday evening, the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol issued its final report. It is 845 pages long, comprised of the executive summary we saw on Monday, eight chapters, and four appendices.

I will reserve judgment on DOJ as Garland’s sensibilities to avoid being political dictate his actions in all matters. It is awful to wait but 45 has slowed down a lot of these processes in the courts until now that is.
This is a magnificent, thoughtful, extremely perceptive and insightful summary of the entire report plus appendices. It is almost impossible to believe that one person could have read, digested, analyzed and summarized this document so well and so informatively. Everyone should read it, if nothing else. I watched you on TV late into the night. When I saw this in the morning I was amazed. When I read it I figured you were up all night. I knew you were thorough and brilliant but this was an amazing job kudos to you. How you managed to write such a clear concise overview in such a short amount of time is incredible. Hopefully, now that this is out and more analysis gets done and the holidays are over, you can take a breath and get back to what’s really important, your knitting🧶🤗

I know everyone wants to see 45 held accountable as do I. I would consider thereafter immediately turning my attention to the many loopholes in our laws and work on a strategy to update them, make them more relevant and that leave less room for them to be misinterpreted as in the Dobbs’ decision and our voting rights legislation. And don’t get me started on originalism. It’s been allowed to be twisted into a thousand different directions at the whim of our current Supreme Court to please the hard right. They are way too clever and unfaithful .
