I promised you chicken coop updates. Here’s the first installment. (Since I know not everyone is a fan, I’ll make sure to title them clearly so you can opt out if chickens aren’t your thing. But truly, there is nothing more relaxing than watching a small pack of chickens scratching around in search of bugs. If you were a dinosaur fan as a kid, they answer all sorts of questions you may have had, like what kind of noises did dinosaurs make? Especially with the Silkies, the fluffy, feathered ones, it’s like having a herd of tiny dinosaurs roaming around in the backyard.)
Too many places and too many people are affected daily. Just now there was a report of a mass shooting in Mississippi. It’s just too ... I don’t even have the words.
I live in Evanston IL. My anxiety about mass shootings is through the roof. This will be the first year we are not volunteering at Race Against Hate on Fathers Day. Sad but true.
Hey, Linda: A couple centuries ago, I went to what was called the National College of Education (now Louis University).
I don't blame you for not volunteering. After 9/11, there were immediate calls for volunteers. My spouse was a massage therapist/teacher. We saw the plumes of toxins rising as we watched the WTC burn down from 17 air miles away. Giuliani (and I hate to say this but I do respect her ...) Whitman asked that we all come to NYC to spend our money w/in days of the towers crumbling. It was "safe" and we knew otherwise. We didn't want to get ill and didn't volunteer there but locally, we did. Crazy world.
Air BnB offers an experience option (you can do all kinds of things hanging about with interesting people doing interesting things. When I sign up I plan to be a schlepper for other plein air artists for a couple hours. Joyce could offer Legal Chicken Feeding?
Joyce, so grateful for the chicken update! 🐓 There is so much strife in the world that a worry about chickens is welcome! Love the new coop and can’t wait to see how they settle in! 🙏🏼
Honestly, it's impossible not to be just delight in this at the end of a busy week. Can we just discuss the fact that you the lovely fluff in the picture have the same color locks?

From Newsweek on 1/25/2023 and pertains to "indictment". Ms. Vance dissected the meaning of the word not long ago and it still hasn't happen. Argh. When in the world is this happening. Has anyone seen movement (though Ms. Vance is up at all hours, so she's likely tell us first :) .
