Looks like a perfect Saturday…in every wonderful way. Thanks for sharing pix of your brood. Always special to me. We have to hold on to our perfect Saturdays. One way or the other, life will not be the same after the election. Gos bless the USA. God bless you and your lovely family. M
Thank you. It has been a horrid week for me personally, with allergies and arthritis causing inflammation, and the prednisone is no better. I needed your beautiful chickens. When I saw your name, I prayed it would have pictures of your chickens.
I am very allergic and when we travel I have to take it. Because I hate it, my doctor wrote prescription for 100 tablets. I usually don’t have this reaction, it is like the first day when I really need it. Going to cut back tomorrow so can make some calls for Kamala. Good thing is that the pain is subsiding, yuck.
Ah, the lovely chickens, and now Tofu! The feathered and furry friends that share our lives serve as a reminder that, in spite of all the chaos in politics, life still has gentleness, purpose, and delight to keep us going forward.
Uncoordinated cats are a lot of fun to watch. I hope that Tofu does get adopted into the family by all the chickens. It's been a rather rough week, so it's great to end it with Tofu and the chickens. Thank you!
I have 2 uncoordinated house cats! I used to believe cats were the ballet stars of the animal world…until I got these 2 klutzes 12 years ago! I love them dearly and they provide comic relief on bad days. And watching them with my dog is also fun especially when politics are running hot and heavy! 😻
Your cats sound wonderful. We have discovered that uncoordinated cats come in all shapes and sizes. We've been watching "The Zoo" (Animal Planet, the Bronx Zoo) in the evenings since early in the pandemic, and one of my favorite things is an episode where a grad student is testing the intelligence of lions and snow leopards. The smartest of them all in the tests is an uncoordinated female snow leopard who is hilarious. You'd think you were watching a house cat. Tigers can be that way too.
I'm glad you like it. We've been watching (usually) 2 episodes per night, for 4.5 years and are still seeing new things and learning new things. I love the fact that it never does anything that gets my adrenaline going (well, except for the episode where the African dog lets her new pups die).
I love that raggedy look, too! It reminds me of a couple of dogs I had that always looked like they'd just walked through a tornado no matter how much they'd been brushed and groomed. I just adored those two dogs, Rudy and Finley - unrelated and years apart from each other, but both touched my heart the same way. <3 <3
Joyce, Your photos are balm for the soul.... We may need them while we wait for results this year.... along with Buddy Poland's photos provided by HCR....
Thank you, Joyce, for posts like this that keep me grounded... and show me you are well grounded. And thanks to Sisters-In-Law - which I love. I ordered my first Wild Grains box today! Free Croissants! Yes, Please! Have a good week. I all need to remember to breathe!
I never thought I’d enjoy chicken stories so much 👏❤️
I needed the chicken and cat story today. Thank you Joyce!
I wonder if Joyce’s chickens can dance like this?: https://substack.com/@lonepilgrim/note/c-73099670?r=f0bj9&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action
Me either!
Me three! I do love the chickens, the cat, and the dog, almost as ,much as I enjoy reading Joyce's information and wisdom.
The critters all provide respite from the crazy upside down world we live in now.

Feel better, Toby. I sympathize. For me, the side effects outweigh the benefits.
Amazing how animals can make our world seem a friendlier place.
Thanks, Joyce, for sharing your chickens. Guida looks like an attack chick. That Maine Coon cat better mind his manners . ~

I've been there, and I'm so sorry! Feel better.
Hope you get some relief soon.
A play date with chickens and cats sounds quite the thing!
Great pictures! What a welcome diversion from the week we've all had, Joyce! Thanks for posting!
These critters make me happy. Thanks for sharing them
Thank you for this lovely story! I do believe my heart rate slowed down while reading it. 💐🐾
Fabulous update. It's tough to be a cat sometimes.
Compared to our national politics, you are running the peaceable kingdom.

Love this program! I’ve watched “The Zoo” and others like it many times!

Thanks for the ongoing Chix flixs. I see a, “soap” coming…
The chix, Tofu, and Bella could star in a kids' book -- the kind of kids' book that the adults steal and read for themselves.
What a lovely picture you have painted. If cats and chickens can be friends, maybe there is hope for the country. Cheers!
I was hoping for chickens today! Such beauties. The little chick is adorable, raggedy feathers and all. Total endorphin rush. Thank you, Joyce.

An immeasurably welcome change from legalities & politics. Thank you SO much for sharing your beautiful girls. 🍁🤍🐓

Poor Guida, she is feeling territorial and harassed! 😻
