Our Vienna Animal Hospital posted a photo of a 21 year old who visited today. I have 3: 15 year old, 12.5 year old and 3 year old all rescues. I do believe our first I named Aretha Franklin because of her pipes suffered with dementia before her kidneys failed her at 19.5. I learned so much from her about signs and care in old age.
I have to yell at the raccoons because they take all the food away from the possums. Some people think they are ugly, I don't. God's creatures are all beautiful except for humans. He f'ed up there

There are about 20 states that have voter pre-registration (you can register before the age of 18) and several have Automatic Voter Registration where you can register when you get an official document like a driver's license. More states should be proposing both these programs...especially since young voters tend not to vote in higher numbers.
If the Oompa Loompa in charge can change the voting laws by the time of the mid-terms, registration will change. One of the reasons that he told Newsom he would help with the fire cleanup was offered at a price. Change the voter registrations which would mean many women and older people who can't find their birth certificates with their original name on it as well as marriage certificates...would forfeit their vote. Registration laws are in for a fight from the 'kings'.

There will be plagues, plane crashes, millions more with mental and physical problems which they will continue to blame on Joe Biden. I want democrats to start getting some publicity. Form a core group of First Responders, the ones who can get headlines, and tell the DNC to stop asking for money and get to work. It doesn’t take money to get headlines. Harris,Walz,Raskin, Warren, Sanders, Buttigieg, Kinzinger, AOC, to name a few.
I wish it were such a simple solution, but if you get rid of Trompe you end up with JD Vance finishing Trompe's term and then running in 2028 if we still have elections. Much more important to flip the House and Senate in the upcoming special elections this year and in the midterms.

We are going no place if the senior leadership is not virtually completely replaced. AOC is the only one I would give $.02 for right now and is the only one I contribute to. Where did Klobuchar go? Can’t someone tell Schumer to look up when he talks? Regardless of his awfulness, Trump has a very effective presence. Who do we have? Don’t think working in a garden will hack it, much as I like growing things.

I agree. Why are most of the Dems silent right now? They should be out there fighting with us. And they certainly should not have voted for any of the absolutely abysmal choices for cabinet positions. Why are we not pursuing the Rule of Law, protecting our Constitution? Yes, we are protesting but we don't have a clear, united message. The damage is happening so fast, it will be difficult to repair.

I believe they are being quiet. If any Democratic member of the House or Senate REALLY stood up to the current flood of cruelty and illegal moves, we would stand with and behind them. But it has to be more than a one time speech.
These Dems voted to approve 9 of the nominees. New Hampshire is a lost cause. I don't know what is going on with Fetterman; does he plan on becoming Independent or jumping ship? Gallego had the nerve to lecture his fellow Dems to "man up".

Dem Senators & Representatives should slow down/block every GOP appointment & maneuver. McConnell has done that for over a decade, and it has been effective. Do it!.
They can do it with a blanket hold, like what Hawaii Senator Brian Schatz did with Department of State nominees until funding for USAID is restored. But none of them have done anything with stopping nominations of DOJ, HHS, other cabinet level nominations. Disgraceful and incompetent.

The traditional practice of law has become almost irrelevant. It is too ponderous and too slow. The metaphorical eggs are broken. All the Kings Horses and all the Kings Men could not put Humpty together again.
Where are the nuclear engineers, the Park Service Employees, the IRS Employees, and on and on? It is like Trump 1 when they separated the children at the borders and could not find them.
TROs, motions for preliminary injunctions, and complaints should be filed within an hour of each executive order. These documents need to have been anticipated, Project 2025 gives a pretty good guide for what needs to be prepared. Should be easy peasy. Brief banks should be ready and documents pre-written and ready to file. It will still be too late.

John Fetterman (PA) is a BIG disappointment. He has drunk the kool-aid that 47 offered to him. He has pretended all along and will most definitely be voted out of office when his time comes due.
Our Senators are also AWOL. Durbin and Duckworth. We have a group here that calls their offices everywork day. It's almost always impossible to get through. My Democratic Congresswoman is better. I can actually talk to someone.
