Thank you Joyce. You help keep my spirits up. I too may get some chickens. I can talk to them and, unlike Trump and Musk, they will listen intelligently.

My five cats are my friends that I can pick up and snuggle for a couple minutes, and have already gotten me through some hard times.Animals never judge us,backstab us,or talk smack behind our back.

Some days they can make me a little crazy, but I cherish my little fuzzy friends.Without them I wouldn't have sanity. And yes, they do listen very intelligently, and even sometimes moreso than people do.

Me Too!! when things get to me I go to my precious kitten Baby Baker (after Baker Mayfield) He is growing but he has the cutest face. He is running back and forth in the yard in 23 degree weather but is so happy. God get rid of people and just give us animals.

I thought all of us did!. I tell me little (18 yrs) how pretty she is and she just bats her eyes at me. But alas she is suffering from dementia and has begun to howl. The vet thinks she gets scared. I pick her up and love her. She lost her sister a few months ago so I have to hold her tight and reassure her.

It is time for the 25th amendment to be considered. He is a danger to US. When are these Republican eunuchs going to grow a spine and challenge the orange marionette. Someone has to cut the strings. Our adversaries are salivating right now. WAKE UP REPUBLICANS!

Expand full comment

The biggest problem with invoking the 25th Amendment is that once Trompe is out, JD Vance gets to be the president for the rest of the term and then run in 2028. We have to focus more on taking back Congress...both the House and the Senate.

There are about 20 states that have voter pre-registration (you can register before the age of 18) and several have Automatic Voter Registration where you can register when you get an official document like a driver's license. More states should be proposing both these programs...especially since young voters tend not to vote in higher numbers.

Expand full comment

If the Oompa Loompa in charge can change the voting laws by the time of the mid-terms, registration will change. One of the reasons that he told Newsom he would help with the fire cleanup was offered at a price. Change the voter registrations which would mean many women and older people who can't find their birth certificates with their original name on it as well as marriage certificates...would forfeit their vote. Registration laws are in for a fight from the 'kings'.

For now (at least) the mid-term elections are the purview of the states. Article I, Section 4 describes what the states’ responsibilities are wrt local elections.

That's been my feeling as well, Louise. The flip side of that argument, though, is that if 47 is still around, he may pull a Putin and jail (or worse) his opposition candidates. It will take a person with great courage to run, given the direction (or cliff) he is moving us to.

Also, how soon until he starts shouting out "FAKE POLLS!!! I AM YOUR BELOVED PRESIDENT!!!" ?

As to the youth using their numbers, they've not grown up in quite the same world my boomer generation did. If they're not able to be taught about what has so quickly become lost, and their knowledge of the world is filtered through algorithms that allow disinformation, then we cannot count on them. We must do this together.

The legislative branch will soon be obsolete and they are too blind to see it. Their spinelessness is their undoing.

Eunuchs are castrated males. Is that what Trump has figuratively done?

He appointed the cabinet members half of whom would have to vote to expel him. They’re his people, indebted to him. So that ain’t happening. Vance is ambitious enough that he might go for it but only if he knew he was guaranteed to depose Trump so he could be installed.

Vance doesn't have the loyal following or the social standing to take over from Trump and get the same results.

You don’t have to attack Trump to Trumpers; they are deaf and blind to anything negative about him. But they are not comfortable with Musk and Putin. Most people are not prepared to abandon Canada, Europe, and NATO, and hook up with Putin. Spread that around. Trump and Musk were just on Hannity and Trump doesn’t seem to understand much of what’s happening. Musk is a rich man who hates poor people. People can sense that. Use it.

Best news I’ve heard today is the 9th District Appeals Court has struck down Trump’s attempt to take away birthright citizenship. Now we’ll see where SCOTUS stands. I’m frightened of their decision, but it’s 50/50, so hopeful, as well.

Expand full comment

50/50 is better odds than I'd give. Citizens United, Roe v. Wade. I'll bet lunch on it. There are only three on the court you might possibly rely on. The other six are corrupt.

Expand full comment

My 50/50 was directed toward the final decision, not who votes in favor of or against. I know we can always count on at least three of them to stand with us.

Expand full comment

While SCOTUS is supposed to be above politics, we know that is no longer true. And we also know that T**** has an undue amount of influence over the Congress (which probably includes threats of physical harm - we know Musk has threatened their livelihoods by offering to 'primary' them if they don't fall in line). Who's to say T**** does not hold the same sway over the Court? We have a felon who thinks he is king, a king who wants the kind of life-and-death power that kings have always wielded. 50/50 is too good.

Expand full comment

Don't forget Charles the first (England). Unfortunately, his beheading led to a civil war. And King John had to sign Magna Carta.

Won't SCOTUS realize that they'd better save the Constitution if they want to keep their jobs?

Isn’t birthright citizenship guaranteed by the constitution? Why was this not laughed out of court? Wouldn’t it take a constitutional amendment ratified by the states? Why can’t someone just tell him to ef-off?

I agree to tell him and Elmo both...He's going to say that things have changed since the constitution was written and that birthright citizenship is being granted to invaders...and "that can't happen."

Under “normal” circumstances, yes this would require a Constitutional amendment. But there is nothing normal about this toxic, disloyal Administration and the groups who wrote & implemented Project 2025 - they all are committed to destroying our country as should be considered traitors.

The BEST NEWS I have today is the lawsuit filed by the Association of Administrative Law Judges among other Plaintiffs in the Southern District of New York. Case 1:25-cv-01237.

To get the shallow bottom a lay bare for all to see & to obtain permanent remedies, it is necessary to expose "DOGE" for what is ... an appalling fraudulent entity invented by Musk-Trump & Gang.

Here is Paragraph 3 of the intensely researched & well pled origin story of "DOGE"

Paragraph 3 follows with syntax, capitalizations & quotation marks as per the existing pleading verbatim Except my brackets . Paragraph three (3) of the complaint follows:

*****

"The same day [1/20/2025] he issued an executive Order titled Establishment and Implementation of the President's "Department of Government Efficiency [hereinafter] the Executive Order".

"Under the Executive Order, the United Sites Digital Service was renamed the United States DOGE Service, and a "temporary organization" was established under 5 U.S.C. Section 3161 [NOT] was entitled the U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization".

"DOGE" Recap:

1. 1st, USDS the acronym for United States Digital Service then ...

2. 2nd, US 'DOGE' Service then ...

3. 3rd, US 'DOGE' Service Temporary [YES ... sorta] Organization [NO]

I can think of 100 questions at trial but, most definitely "DOGE" whatever it was & whenever it was "DOGE" is going to be temporary, very temporary. : ---)

*****

Context: The lawsuit was researched & assembled by the Electronic Frontier Association more commonly known as the non-profit "EFF".

Wikipedia: "The Electronic Frontier Association is an international non-profit digital rights group based in San Francisco, CA ... It was founded in 1990 to promote civil liberties on the internet."

As the Professor says: "We are All in this Together".

You're right, but they'd be firing all the slaves that bring them undeserved profits. Then what? Plus, they're already firing government workers by the thousands, and corporations are cutting their workforces in anticipation of tariff costs. When enough people in this country have nothing left to lose, all hell is going to break loose. I don't think the corporate overlords are stupid enough to let things go that far, even if the trump cabal is...

Although Jews were the main target of Nazi hatred, they were not the only group persecuted. Other individuals and groups were considered "undesirable" and "enemies of the state." Once the voices of political opponents were silenced, the Nazis stepped up their terror against other "outsiders."

Donald Trump has said that he has instructed the justice department to fire any remaining US attorneys installed by the previous administration, in an apparent move to stamp out political appointees of Joe Biden who might resist having Trump’s agenda guide prosecutorial decisions.

“I have instructed the termination of ALL remaining ‘Biden Era’ US Attorneys,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Tuesday. “We must ‘clean house’ IMMEDIATELY, and restore confidence. America’s Golden Age must have a fair Justice System – THAT BEGINS TODAY!”

A message from me to Liar, Fraud, Con, Grifter, Scumbag, Sex-Abuser, Convicted Felon, Racist, Fascist, Traitor Donald F Trump..........

Form a core group of First Responders, the ones who can get headlines, and tell the DNC to stop asking for money and get to work. It doesn’t take money to get headlines. Harris,Walz,Raskin, Warren, Sanders, Buttigieg, Kinzinger, AOC, to name a few.

I wish it were such a simple solution, but if you get rid of Trompe you end up with JD Vance finishing Trompe's term and then running in 2028 if we still have elections. Much more important to flip the House and Senate in the upcoming special elections this year and in the midterms.

We are going no place if the senior leadership is not virtually completely replaced. AOC is the only one I would give $.02 for right now and is the only one I contribute to. Where did Klobuchar go? Can’t someone tell Schumer to look up when he talks? Regardless of his awfulness, Trump has a very effective presence. Who do we have? Don’t think working in a garden will hack it, much as I like growing things.

I have a lot of criticism but am afraid I do not have the solutions.

I agree. Why are most of the Dems silent right now? They should be out there fighting with us. And they certainly should not have voted for any of the absolutely abysmal choices for cabinet positions. Why are we not pursuing the Rule of Law, protecting our Constitution? Yes, we are protesting but we don't have a clear, united message. The damage is happening so fast, it will be difficult to repair.

We are being defeated by the Second Law of Thermodynamics: Entropy. The lack of leadership just makes it worse.

The traditional practice of law has become almost irrelevant. It is too ponderous and too slow. The metaphorical eggs are broken. All the Kings Horses and all the Kings Men could not put Humpty together again.

Where are the nuclear engineers, the Park Service Employees, the IRS Employees, and on and on? It is like Trump 1 when they separated the children at the borders and could not find them.

TROs, motions for preliminary injunctions, and complaints should be filed within an hour of each executive order. These documents need to have been anticipated, Project 2025 gives a pretty good guide for what needs to be prepared. Should be easy peasy. Brief banks should be ready and documents pre-written and ready to file. It will still be too late.

Speed kills regardless of the nomenclature.
