a good reminder! Thank you for the chicken video clip. Between political chaos and wedding planning chaos (my daughter's wedding in early September), I needed to get back to knitting to soothe my battered brain. My wedding knitting includes a wonderful Ambah O'Brien Solstice shawl using rainbow colors from my stash plus a yummy combo of citrus-colored MadTosh Pashmina yarn held with citrus mohair/silk for a cardigan. The colors and the textures really help when I feel my teeth start to clench!
Oh Cindy, I hope things will calm down enough that you will be able to enjoy at least some of the wedding planning? I hope people aren't arguing. My daughter was married in Oct, and she and I did the planning ourselves and had fun! But we were lucky that nobody (incl. the groom's gracious family) tried to put their 2 cents' worth in. Hope you have fun with it and have a beautiful joyous day in Sept!
it is an amazing combo of color and fabulous texture, perfect for raising my spirits. but no - i can barely keep up with knitting for family and babies of close friends!
I couldn’t get it to load on the email page, but once I got here, and hit the read here button so the whole message came up, I could watch it here. HTH - Joni
Ruth said "Mom can I have some" so politely! She looked so deflated... 😊 Am doing just that going to the Grand Tetons w my dog girlies to stay at Jackson Lake Lodge.
A doctor at Jackson Lake Lodge saved my life when I was 14. Our family had been camping at Teton and I got blood poisoning from a cut on my foot. Red streak up my leg. He shot me with penicillin and told my folks to drive straight home to MI. I was feverish and my foot was propped up between my parents in the front seat of the station wagon. 3 days later back home I was recovering nicely. Wish I had a more elegant tale about that lovely lodge. 😜
Also, 27 year old grizzly bear 🐻 399 just came out with one new cub 4 days ago!! Sweet old momma thank goodness didn’t have 4 cubs again!! Enjoy your trip!
Have a nice break Ms. Vance. I probably missed your live podcast, but I should be able (I hope) to listen later. You might have discussed this issue on your podcast already, and you might have presented an alternative perspective, other than what I have already heard in the initial response to today's news. But I would like to do something I rarely do, and make my own public response before a more full examination of this issue. ( First reactions are generally not very well considered).
Today Fani Willis was to have informed the superior courts in Atlanta of a major impending case and to “clear” their calendar. A few weeks ago it was to send a letter to law enforcement officials to be on heightened alert in July and August for a probable major indictment. Okay, that’s the news report. The commentary (outside of some excitement as it almost certainly means Trump will be part of the indictment) is she’s doing some public grandstanding and she could have informed the law enforcement agencies and the courts without the same public notice.
I have to disagree. What some are seeing as grandstanding is a masterful counter offensive against Trump’s anticipated attacks. They are masterful because they are telling just the public—but Trump himself, that she has already anticipated his attack on her through his vocal rantings and his perceived legal maneuverings and she is claiming the upper hand in the intimidation game.
And I think there is another element in the notification to the courts, she’s suggesting the courts prepare for the Trump filings and begin preparing themselves so they will prepared to swiftly deal with these issues, and I expect once the indictment is brought she is planning to be to trial pretty swiftly and I imagine she foresees, or expects a verdict well before the first Republican caucus.
The question then, if he is convicted, does he go to jail and file motions of habeas corpus or do the courts allow him to campaign in public and retry the verdict (either way he will retry it) by campaigning.
I’ve been missing my vicarious chickens. Swint’s feed store in Jonesboro (GA) has chicks for sale, and a deluxe chicken coop, but I read up on what’s involved and decided just to enjoy the ones my neighbors keep and, of course, yours. There’s a rooster that crows all day & I delight in his serenade.
Give my regards to Broadway, remember me to Herald Square, make up a gallows for Treasonous Trump and hope he’ll soon be there!
If only Pickles could pick on Mr. McCarthy shoes on his way down the stairs when he parades out of Congress. 🙄
🤣
Love your friendly noes about your life, and your knowledgeable comments about our world.
They may be voracious, but they seem to respect boundaries.
You've trained them well.
Chicken eating sushi. Wonderful.
Thanks for sharing a little clip of your adorable chickens, Joyce!! Hope you and the other Sisters have a blast tonight in NYC. ♥️
