Thanks, Joyce. In my opinion, Trump plays dumb but he’s just executing the ‘mob boss in a bathrobe’ routine. He doesn’t care how shallow and petty he looks as long as he can profit off of a grift and somebody looks up to him. Liz Cheney is right. When he’s gone all his hangers-on will go down in history as shameful power vampires.
We are extremely frightened that so many Trump candidates won their primaries! So many were unopposed. And so many down ballot!
What do all of you believe may happen if republicans retake the house and senate in November? Are any of you thinking about moving to another country? We are petrified!
It is really alarming. Hopefully the results in these races can motivate people in the remaining ones to turn out the vote and prevent pro-Trump candidates from winning. The information coming out in the Jan 6 committee hearings may help with that.
Joyce, Thank you for laying this out so logically and completely. I've been patiently waiting, as so many have, for the evidence to be put in a form that tells the story of what went on and why it went on, without hyperbole and supposition. The Committee has done that and you have as well. Much appreciated. Although I normally stick up for the environmental law types, I've got to admit, I enjoyed that statement as well. I don't think its petty to ask people to get off your toes when they are stepping on them. Finally, glad to read that some of the chickens are doing well. Tough little critters. We had them around when I was quite small, as well as ducks. Strange the things we find that connect experience. Wishing you all well.
I stick up for environmental types too - environmental justice work was a priority for me as a us attorney and I had a great relationship with the very smart, effective lawyer who ran ENRD in main justice when I was a us attorney. But Clark was none of those things. It's embarrassing that he even walked in the same halls.
great summary; haven’t watched all of 2nd hearing. summary helps; been reading/seeing a few clips. i like the format committee is using. looking forward to Thursday’s; working but hopefully i can catch some of it just listening
awww sorry about the 2 chicks; glad others are doing well. i think chicken pictures would help us get through hearings - 😃
After listening and reading..... it's clear DEMS have missed opportunities at state levels throughout the country. There must be more leadership at state levels and Y do u think Dems fell behind here?
PS: so sorry for your sweet and cute chicks. I keep track of them on Twitter and instagram! Love the dog and your knitting as well! Thank you for your exquisite explanations!
Thank you for the summary. We thirst for the facts. So sorry about the chicks, but that is life and we struggle down that road not knowing if the next day will be sad or happy.
Thank you Joyce, as I watch the hearings, I think of the people that lost their lives because of this, who is going to be held responsible for that? I hope the committee addresses that. I remember watching Watergate as a child, with my mom yelling at the tv because her soap operas were interrupted, . At the time it was the worst that could happen, but boy if they only knew what was to come,
I understand completely. I've worked with a number of great attorneys, good attorneys, and then "why did you even get into this field" attorneys. But the answer for that last group tends to be very consistent; they wanted the power and prestige they thought the field automatically supplied, but never felt obliged to do the actual work. My role was subject matter expert on environmental matters and that last group frustrated me to no end. Thank you for the reply.
Hi Joyce. There is a lot of speculation about whether the committee will make any criminal referrals at the conclusion of the hearings. I wonder if DOJ has been investigating already but waiting for the committee to refer charges to give DOJ some cover? Wouldn’t it look less partisan?
DOJ seems to be investigating so it makes a lot of sense for the committee to avoid a referral, which as you wisely point out, would only make any subsequent prosecution look more partisan.
Hi Joyce, sorry to hear about your chicks. They are all so cute! Especially your dog!
My thoughts are that some of the people he is closest to knows but are they willing to admit it to the committee? Drumpf’s proves he knew because he needed Georgia’s governor to find him 11,800 votes so does that count as admissions to losing?
If Trump is lying when he says he believes he won the election, he clearly hasn’t the integrity we should require for high office. On the other hand, if he’s telling the truth when he says he believes he won, after having been told he lost by so many people who would have had access to the facts, what does that say about his judgment?

Thank you Joyce! Soooo sorry to hear about your loss of two chicks. 😢
And, you’re not being petty! It was a great blast by Donoghue as was the one lobbed by Mr. Herschmann to Eastman. ☺️👍🏼

Thank you for responding
I look forward to your intelligent and informed comments here and in your television appearances.
Brava!

I don’t believe 45 was going to be held accountable (anytime soon) had it not been for the relentless work being done by the Jan 6th committee.
Please be petty more! Your tales are the best

This is an important question -- too much for tonight but definitely one we need to consider in the weeks ahead. Thank you for flagging it!
