Dogs are not like sharks: they are more like people, having evolved in our company. They can be insistent about social intereaction. My dog thinks if my hands are not busy typing or cooking or something, that they must be available to rub her ears or play a game. Trump seems to be a person who eschews personal contact with any living thing, even people. A dog would simply unnerve him with its demands that he touch them. And they lick love kisses. Trump would recoil. I feel sad for him.

At Ft Benning, GA, when I was in Basic Training, and right after, in Advanced Training (United States Army), the Command Sergeant Major of the battalion I served in was an absolutely awesome person! He was tough as nails, but his heart was overflowing with love for the troops! His relationship with the Colonel who was the commander of the battalion was as solid as a granite rock. I know this because I served at Battalion HQ’s. (Although I was only an E2, the Command Sergeant Major referred to me as the Battalion’s “Command Private Major” (LOL). Tim Walz (soon-to-be Vice President of the United States of America) served 24 years in our nation’s military, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. Walz, a solid choice as (soon-to-be President of the United States of America) Harris’ running mate, is smart, humble, and dedicated to serving our nation. He is from a rural background, he is a former educator, a coach, a former US Congressperson, a two-term Governor of the State of Minnesota, and a champion of the middle class.
I hope that you widely share this experience and this take-away. A forum, e.g., voteveterans, is a useful venue for all manner of readers to learn about Gov Walz's choices and character.

I have no intention to offend anyone (except maybe the leaders of Hamas and Netanyahu) that said, I believe the most critical thing Americans can do this year is vote like our lives depend on it bc in many cases and in many ways they do. So I’m advocating for the VP that I believe will be most helpful to Harris becoming president and sending Trump (the Netanyahu of America) packing.

I too was very concerned about her choosing Shapiro bc of the horrendous situation in Gaza and Netanyahu’s apparent determination to remove every Palestinian from the face of the earth (to keep himself in power and out of jail). I love Shapiro and think he is a fabulous governor of PA, but I think Walz is an excellent choice for Kamala’s VP.

I'm as Jewish as can be and support Harris's choice of Tim Walz over Josh Shapiro. I also lived for a very long time in PA and know it well and its politics (family friend was the Lt. Gov.)
Shapiro is a terrific Governor who is anti-Netanyahu (as are most American Jews) precisely because Netanyahu is conducting this 'war' to keep himself out of jail for corruption--not unlike your hero.
Even most Israelis don't support Netanyahu any longer.

Being Jewish and alive these days carries a lot of, a great deal of, responsibility for rather complicated information, which very few people apparently are willing to use their brains in depth for trying to understand things beyond their obvious lack of depth. My take, Penny, on what you said is that the reaction of people who do not in fact understand the depths of 3,500 years of Judaism in one place, would possibly not vote for Shapiro. Right?
Robin, the Israel/Gaza issue is so much more complex that my short comment could possibly address. I have no intention to offend anyone (except maybe the leaders of Hamas and Netanyahu) that said, I believe the most critical thing Americans can do this year is vote like our lives depend on it bc in many cases and in many ways they do. So I’m advocating for the VP that I believe will be most helpful to Harris becoming president and sending Trump (the Netanyahu of America) packing.
Shapiro himself understands this very well because he is trained in thinking, it's part of our heritage. Thank you. I understood you right off the bat.

And then, with their bloodthirsty raping and murder, Hamas successfully triggers an Israeli overeaction, whixh, if Istael is not careful, could lead to the destruction of Israel.
