I went to read Judd Legum's column regarding the government of Florida's illegal and unconstitutional attempts to influence and interfere with the vote on the ballot measure to affirm women's right to choose regarding abortion. It seems that the proponents of the measure were shut out in two cases by Florida courts when they opposed the state's illegal interference. But I'm wondering why they should not in the first instance send their own "cease and desist" letters to the so-called State Department of Health regarding its heavy-handed election interference and its unlawful presumption of authority in issuing letters telling the proponents of the amendment to stop their advertisements.

I just heard Oliva Troy report how when Dr. Fauci raised alarm bells to the Cabinet and VP and their teams, that Trump was withholding COVID related equipment from NY- Fauci reporting to them that he was on the phone with Emergency Room doctors telling him necessary equipment was not available and was being held back. And the Trump administration’s response from Jared Kushner was ‘F&$#K NY, its Como’. 1. My dad died from COVID, 2. I work at a large Bronx healthcare system and witnessed firsthand the frantic efforts to secure necessary equipment , everything from masks to testing components to IV equiment to other protective gear- you name it. What I witnessed working it the epicenter of the pandemic, nobody should. This was on top of the stress of the explosive number of cases. Until today, I have never heard a member of the Trump administration specifically state Trump intentionally withheld vital equipment because NY electoral votes went to the democratic candidate. What can be done? Was this conduct in anyway criminal? I know this was amoral. I am a real life example of the direct harm from Trumps actions. I am sick over this.

Timothy Snyder invites his followers to a ‘live’ and we ended up getting a message about a new chat thread where the ‘live’ unfolded. The format didn’t work for me. It was him in the equivalent of a zoom chat trying to answer what ever he could. No function to moderate the many comments flying by.
I was part of Timothy Snyder’s group chat and found Substack’s chat technology completely inadequate to the task. I won’t go into details here, but it was infuriating to my humble autistic brain.
I’ve since found there is a live video function. The plus button on your phone offers the option to upload a photo, a saved video or to launch your camera as a video camera live. Apparently you can invite someone else to participate as a speaker in conversation. I assume this is what will happen now… but who knows.

My question is; for rural America- why doesn’t the Harris Waltz campaign Putting Up Billboards?
It’s a way for people in the country to see and know what Kamala & Tim stand for because maybe they may only see Fox or Sinclair broadcasts.
Here in Colorado, it was reported a rich Tim MELLON of banking family fame put up a “Venezuela Ahead” billboard along I25 heading south. It costs $1200 per month to have that billboard up.
Because the billboard company requires that who supports the message has to have their name on them, so we know it’s Mellon.
$1200 a month is cheap & it gets to a group of Rural, country folks.
Why isn’t that outreach being considered?? Sure seems reasonable to me & a simple way to counter so much misinformation/ aka Lies.
I always wonder if there are a body of seemingly obedient Rs who in the privacy of a "voting booth" will actually vote for Harris b/c they know he is bat-shit crazy. Or, are they all in for the fascism that Vance and Proj 2025 will bring? I'm not talking about the Mitt Rs and the Rs who don't have the backbone to publicly endorse Harris, but all the ones who are just watching him publicly decompensating into his true fascist self. Would love to hear you and Judd Legum touch on this. Of course I know we can never really know this but does anyone else think about this?

Speaking of law and this election, if you watch Jen Psaki's interview of Neal Katyal today (Oct 13) l and understand the likelihood of the Republicans pressuring the courts, state legislators and executives, and members of Congress to oveturn the will of the people if Harris wins enough of the swing states to clinch the election ... we may all need to consult with legal and financial advisors. And advisors on emigration to more sane nations. Katyal used the phrase that the GOP could overturn the vote "through shenanigan," by using technical aspects of the election certification process. What say you, Joyce, about the countermeasures against such a "shenanigan" strategy?

Short answer is yes, he will, at least for this election because of the state the New York case is at.
