Twice in one day Joyce you really have been busy. Both so informative too. I really have hope that the “Teflon “ is wearing off and Tfg will after all these years be held accountable for his actions., it is long overdue.

Yes, us non-lawyers want justice to move faster, at least swing the scales and clunk him in the head. It feels like he will die of old age before we see him in an orange jumpsuit. But, YAY for justice. We love her standing tall, blindfold in place.

Thanks for the "double duty" today as well as the MSNBC appearance where you also did a great job as our "legal affairs docent."

Wow! You’re phenomenal. Thank you for your superior brilliance, but mostly for your work ethic and diligence!

TFG's life story has been one of skirting the law, breaking the law, bullying contractual partners, making liberal use of untold numbers of attorneys to delay and obfuscate standard legal/judicial processes, essentially exhausting all attempts to call him to account for his behavior. His improbable entry into politics at the highest level is simply another stage on which to act in the same predictable fashion with a different governing principles and laws. The justice system HAS failed to call him to account over literally decades of similar behavior. He has demonstrated a sort of feral genius as a petty criminal and has been rewarded in the press and Hollywood for it. So yes, many of us are beyond impatient and tired of the endless parade that circles the courthouse but never ends at it's door.

Isn't is sweet that an authoritarian movement with a narcissist dominator at the apex suddenly finds all it's delusions crumbling?

So many bad actors acted out of hubris founded on nothing more substantial than bullying and delusion.

People who thrive for power never contemplate losing it. Hence the Alice In Wonderland aspect that the transitory nature of power eludes them. Their fragile egos turn a privilege into an entitlement to rule, to settle scores and to make permanent their position.

I am very thankful for our system of laws and those dedicated to preserving our nation as envisioned and designed. If we dodge a fascist style bullet our heroes will be those who took oaths as I did at SSA where I spent 43 years: to uphold the Constitution and abide by our laws, taking seriously the consequences we face for failure to do so.

The sobering detail is that Trump, Meadows, Graham, Flynn et al were simply a bunch of rank amateurs who at this moment are still not being held accountable. We should consider ourselves fortunate their incompetence and pathetic natures made success less likely for themselves. What could happen if future usurpers were both competent and self-disciplined?

To me we need to free our politics from private money's nefarious corruption. Until the people are the primary legislative recipients, our laws will continue to be rewritten for those that covet power rather than exercise it by, of and for the people.

Unbelievable! This is like a sleeping tablet. I dream of his head down in a "perp walk" and the jail bus rolling away, to the end of his shtick! Thank you for lining up all the bricks in the wall of justice set to crash on his 40 years worth, or more, of doing whatever, he wants, whenever he wants.

A good fair evening to you Joyce. The clashing sounds of injustice seem to be clamoring for resolve amidst so much disinformation and hate. With sites like yours here on SubStack the word is getting out finally countering social platforms that only perpetuate darkness. An incredible resource I am so thankful to be a part of. We do need Meadows to testify. And as an aside, how are we going to get all those election deniers out of Congress? Twists and turns in the fork in the road do not deter my intention to get to the other side of 2024 fairly unscathed and upholding democracy. Thank you for important facts we need to be following. Today you went above and beyond the call for freedom and climbed the mountain top toward the justice we all seek. Thank you Joyce.

Would it be possible to bring Ms. G. Maxwell out of prison for a moment to testify against Donald? I would be very surprised if she had nothing on him.

I responded on Twitter, when does Trump get declared a vexatious litigant having to seek permission before any lawsuit is filed.

Since "we're in this together" and "there are increasingly, reasons to be optimistic", once that criminal slob's fat ugly ass is sentenced, can we plan a live virtual champagne/wine party for Civil Discoursers to celebrate the success of Lady Justice?

You said, "federal resources and courts would be better suited to prosecuting, and ultimately incarcerating, if Trump is convicted, a former president."

I've been wondering how a prison, either state or federal, would go about managing a prisoner like Trump. Surely he couldn't be put in the general population where another prisoner might seek to increase their "stature" by being the one who killed an ex-president.

In addition, some of the guards, who have previously supported Trump, might seek his favor by giving him special privileges. That would be supremely galling to those of us who would like to see him given only bread and water. ;)

Most important is that we maintain the rule of law. I believe that years from now, long after those of us who abhor Trump and what he’s done are passed, the upholding of the rule of law in the face of resistance will be what is celebrated.

The best thing Mark Meadows ever did for the country was to hire Cassidy Hutchinson and bring her with him to the White House. Possibly the worst thing Mark Meadows ever did for his own self-interest and that of the GOP was to hire Cassidy Hutchinson and bring her with him to the White House. I could get drunk (or at least tipsy) on the irony of this.
