I did spend two hours carefully reading the indictment. Not only does Joyce highlight its salient points brilliantly, but I want to briefly note why we owe the legitimate print and broadcast news establishment a deep expression of gratitude. In my opinion, almost all the details in Jack Smith's indictment validate the dogged reporting, one story at a time, that our "legitimate" news media has done over a period of many months. If you think about each element of the indictment, you may realize, as I did, that you heard or saw a version of the information previously because intrepid reporters went after the facts and developed the stories. Now Jack Smith has put meat on the bones and we definitely should thank him for standing up for democracy. But we also must thank our community of reporters and journalists for reminding us, as they do every day in so many ways, that a vibrant free press is essential to a true democracy.

Yes! Also, the terms “fake news” and “alternative facts” should forever be put to rest with this prosecution. Let’s expect, no DEMAND, the news media explain all the facts regarding the former guy’s crimes and explain to this dumbed down America that Trumps claims were truly “The Big Lie!” Side note: CNN won against Trump’s suit about their use of that term!

This strikes me as a really important observation. But for the medias reporting, it's likely that this would've died on the vine.

Noted David, thank you. I see that MARK MEADOWS is not named as an unindicted Co- conspirator & suspect Jack Smith has a cooperating witness, Employee Number One (1).

Thanks David, I read the Indictment this afternoon, After reading this using notes I made from Joyce Vance's column, I found the New York Times has the full indictment annotated by one of their reporters which is also helpful. It too, is available on line
