Woot - thank you. You are incredibly helpful with all of these sources. I write (mostly just responses) too much on this Substack and I’m sure there’s going to be a couple of amens to that. It is draining, and also draining to engage with folks on other substack writers who claim that Biden can abrogate treaties and that we will never see a two State solution for Gaza independent of Israel and Hamas. Disheartening. I joined a Democrat group to write postcards, and that has been a joy to do something and positive. Being on this, Substack is completely informative and positive as well. But I don’t get news from mainstream or cable, all print sources, Including international (I take a look at a YouTube when there is a particular event, or WH live C-SPAN such as the state of the union or PM Kishida and Yuko’s state dinner and visit - so at times I chime in here with some detail. Indeed, I will send the SOTU info as a reminder to DNC REACH. Thank you again - I have spent most of my ‘other professional life’ in a university and in league of women voter positions (so I’ve been apolitical by training), and I haven’t had these Democrat organizational links. Final note: opposing Trump is neither Democrat nor republican: it’s a moral ethical response to the greatest threat to the world in 2024., Many thanks, V
(I also watch George Conway from time to time on YouTube since I don’t have television by choice. And I really enjoy his take on Trump, but he seems to always be so certain that. SCOTUS will do something legal and logical such as find that Donald Trump has no immunity for his alleged criminality in office. Now he’s saying the jury in New York will have no problem finding Trump guilty of election interference. That is entirely logical to me would be a correct assessment, but I guess there’s no accounting for human decisions in court rooms. The only thing I can be sure of is that I feel I’m making a difference when I write my postcards. And I’m sure that Joe Biden will be reelected. ps:
Sorry this is long but the one thing I did learn from my exhausting tête à tête with the guy on Robert Reich’s substack was that October 7 is Putin’s birthday and he believes the Hamas attack on Israel was Iran’s birthday present to Putin. And he said he learned from me that Putin, Netanyahu, and Trump are a three headed snake: one breathes out and the other breathes in. How could anyone have ever missed that? And the fact that both Putin and Netanyahu want the Gaza war to continue as long as possible, to damage Biden - knowing full well his hands are tied by treaties. They are heartless. Israel is in constant danger, the innocent residents of Palestine and Netanyahu does not care. (The other two members of the three headed snake are supporting him. And he and Putin are counting on Trump‘s election).
