So the federal government taking Trump to court years back for not renting to black people? Nobody remembers? We remember!

Expand full comment

Yes they did. Donald Trump & his father both; they would mark the black people’s applications with a small c(I guess it was for colored.) They did not rent to black people. I say that would be a racist action in my book.

Look at his lying tweet less than an hour after he disgraced himself before the journalists! In the tweet he deliberately claimed again that she had insisted she was only of Indian origin not Black! Truth eludes him even when proven that she always proudly declared she was Black!

I trust the political video spots will be adequately saturated with these moments. Now democrats, let’s not gum it up with issues we can’t win on. We have been gifted with the worst candidate in history. The ketchup bottles are being tossed in Mar-a-Lago. We stand a chance achieving super majorities in Congress. Let’s let them disintegrate.

I wrote my book on Don-old because he was the gift that kept on giving. If you will recall, every day every week was a new controversy. Let’s allow him to sink in his own quicksand of Stronzo (Italian for shit.)

Some of the Democratic ads should be history lessons of Don-old's first term. For me, every morning was waking up wondering what new <expletive deleted> thing he tweeted overnight. Compare his term with Biden's term. How many cabinet people had been fired from each? How many had criminal charges? Anyone for bleach in their veins?

One short development is about to throw a rench into the gears of public opinion. The Middle East war is now going to drag the USinto possibly attacking Iran. Until yesterday there was some hope for containment but no longer. Iran will attack Israel in a big was and Isreal will counter attack. This is what Nitinyahoo wants in order to stay in office. He may have purposely assassinated the president of Hamas.

This once again brings me to the unpopular opinion that the British Belfor Declaration of 1917 was a huge mistake to declare an official homeland for European Jews. Palestine had already been populated with Arabs living there for thousands of years. This has become the consequence of poor colonial interference.

There will be no victors but as usual, the Arabs will pay the greater price. And if Turkey comes to the aid of Palestinians as they threat, it’s a brand new ballgame possibility the breaking up of NATO.

In this case, he pissed off (sorry, Mama) not only Kamala Harris, and us, but more than 21,000 people who made comments in the Washington Post last evening.

In a recent forum, there was discussion about how he's all about "showmanship." I changed my mind since then, after the disgusting way he spoke to the Black journalists, and especially when this hypocrite told everyone within earshot that he claimed to loved Blacks.

He reminds me more of the host or emcee of a "roast" where jokes and insults are "dished out" to the recipient. The person at the front table assumes that the insults are really people just kidding about him or her.

When Trump's at a rally or being interviewed, he seems to think that it's not just to be worshipped by everyone there, but to "roast" a person or persons. It’s likely that you are being “directly exposed” to Sinclair without even realizing it. They are not a single station like Fox - they own and operate hundreds of local stations across the country. These stations are required to include in their nightly newscasts stories produced by a team of reporters in Sinclair Corp headquarters. Judd Legum (Substack “Popular Information) wrote last week about one lead anchor who resigned “over concerns about the accuracy and right-wing bias of the content he was required to present on air.”

Thank you, Ms Sturgis, for these observations.

The sad and worrisome fact is that this Trumpist brand of racial exclusivism and racial exclusionism seems so normal to them. The threat of being excluded and the illusion of power by means of exclusion of 'others' has an irrational force on their choice-making. The vary narrow relationship circle into which they draw themselves provides the illusions of self-protection and self-assertion.

All of this is social pathology based on learned if incorrect assumptions about surviving in a remorseless competitive anomic social environment.

It seems to me that it is important to remember two facts of living (or factual for me, anyway):

as kids we did not approach other kids nor our 'adult' community in this way but we did approach each other with an initial social mutuality;

as kids we questioned the need to exclude and to make enemies of others;

then, as kids we were 'put in our place' in ways that taught disrespect, contempt, and social marginalization.

My point, as I know you are aware, is that these adult Trumpists represent a genuine minority among minorities in America. They represent themselves as the 'most excluded', the most misunderstood and mis-treated of all Americans. They argue that they cannot survive and be fairly counted in in a society that is actively diverse, equitable in authoring and offering protections (for exercising personal responsibility) for all, and inclusive in respect of participation in all aspects of social living and civil society governance.

We can do well to not see our selves as 'opponents of'. We, though often among the silent majorities, constitute an humanist majority, in fact super-majority in America and in the world. We see the reality of cooperation by means of in and conscious use of the plural and democratic principles of constitutional American governance. Actively pursuing this reality is what, if we persist through time and conscious effort, effects a personal dispelling of prejudice by learning from the myriad benefits of personal experience of inclusive cooperation.

In all of my experiences, the more basic our reasons of mutual cooperation are, the more mutual benefit and security are the tangible and durable results.

So let's communicate the message of democratic cooperation, of social mutualism to the Harris et al campaign in order to inform it with Americans' experiences of the benefits and of the potential benefits to be achieved by means of them.
