Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Jeannie (the knitter) and I are celebrating tomorrow with a turkey dinner delivered to out door. good thing since we're rained in for a couple of days. we hope to see you on TV and spend a lot of time watching movies and british murder mysteries. i so enjoyed seeing you again at tribfest. and i'm grateful that the red wave was all a mirage. i actually feel better about our future, and the electorate. thanks so much for what you do! ~Bruce
White Christmas is also a staple in our house. We also watch The Nutcracker with Mikhail Baryshnikov. And the usual suspects - A Christmas Story, Die Hard (yes, it’s a Christmas movie, fight me, haha), The Holiday, Bad Santa, and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. This year we are honoring the indigenous lands we live on and donated to an indigenous lacrosse team.
This is our family's pick too Connie. A local theater featured it on the big screen for many years, awesome! Thank you Joyce for calmly putting current events in context for us, and including chickens, knitting and Beaujolais to keep us grounded!
Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving, Joyce. Thank you for all the work you do to inform, enlighten and inspire. It isn't our tradition to watch films on Thanksgiving. In fact, getting any of us together for Thanksgiving is a big deal since our three daughters are in different locations, but we will have our middle daughter here with us tomorrow after she finishes work. I'm grateful.
Well, Joyce since this is also the season for soccer (The World Cup) and because the delightful series has a sweet holiday episode, I highly recommend Apple + TED LASSO series 1 and 2.
Many thanks, Joyce. Have a lovely day. I enjoyed hearing about your wine. Your mentioning of it reminded me of the trips my husband Steve and I made weekly to Sonoma. When I finished college we were visiting a winery we particularly liked, and when we learned It was for sale thought we might buy it. I was very excited about it until Steve said what about grad school? That settled it. Grad school won, but we never lost our love for learning about all the wines and trying them out usually with guests. That was a long time ago. I’m glad I went on to graduate school and found the double career I liked. Good wines always remind me of a good man who loved me. I give thanks for him this day each year.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! I am thankful you are here to lend such insight and assurance on following lawful pathways to justice. You are so very important! Thank you for all you do, Dr, Vance !👏👏👏
That's funny. I like Die Hard, too, but when I rented the VHS and we watched it, my spouse refused to watch more of them. It's not a movie but we're at the end of NF's, "Stranger Things" which makes reference to "The Lord of the Rings" and since there's an evil upside-down world, it's current to our country today :) that is indeed upside-down.
Oh my gosh, yes!! It is one of all time favorites - that film got me through many hard times. Rosalind Russell “was” Auntie Mame to me and still is. Just wish it was aired now - we need those messages of love.
I don’t watch much television but here is a short list:
A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote: Both the book & the movie. This is a memoir of Truman growing up with his aunts in the Depression era South. I read the book and watch the video every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas
Found on the BritBox app from Amazon Prime Video: Gardeners World (watched by about 80 million people world-wide). They had a 3 part Christmas Special at the end of 2021 but it’s going to be 4-5 episodes of one hour each this year: Gardens, Dogs, Birds, and the occasional Cat. Beautiful videography, some of it by drone cameras!
Thank you for the sanity respite you always provide.
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving
Wishing you and those you love a Happy Thanksgiving! You and your Sisters are wonderfully insightful. My favorite Holiday movie is Love Actually.

The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet… is my must see. Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving Joyce. My daughter and I love watching Danny Kaye and Rosy Clooney, etc. in White Christmas.

LOVE Ted Lasso!

Love Actually is a delight! Happy Thanksgiving!
“Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” will put you and your family in just the right mood to smile and enjoy the holiday season.
Bing Crosby & Fred Astaire oldie “Holiday Inn” is one of the best holiday movies ever made.
If you need good smiles and tears, Barry Levinson’s Avalon is perfect for Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. ❤️

Somehow it feels bizarre to say Happy Thanksgiving, already?! But here we are. May you all be rightly stuffed by day’s end.
As for holiday movies, somehow Die Hard wormed its way to the top of our list. “Yippee Kaye MF!”. 🤭

Auntie Mame is one of my favorite holiday movies, the original with Rosilsnd Russell!

It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story Home a Lone.

A must watch movie in my household is the George C. Scott version of “A Christmas Carol”.
I am grateful for the insight you offer into events both political and otherwise.
Happy Thanksgiving!
We also watch the Scott version of ACC!
