I am appalled and disgusted by Justice Alito’s unethical and unprofessional conduct. He should be removed.

and then JAILED.

He can share a cell with Clarence Thomas. And what is with their wives? Aren't these educated women? Why do they behave so trashy?

Follow the money….

Educated women are sometimes trashy; and trashy women are often smarter.

That's fair.

I appreciate your indulgence here Lori! 🥸

Education is when one knows the difference.

Why did Adam fall? Because his wife tempted him. He knew better.

Storybook tales.. a woman would certainly never do that 🤡

I agree with David Wood: "Follow the money".

I agree! Corruption on display!

Alito and Thomas openly state that they apply "natural law," which actually is Catholic dogma, before applying the text of the Constitution when they render decisions. This alone should have disqualified them.

Isn't that special? Maybe they will find themselves shoveling in purgatory.

Expand full comment

Yes. Impeached!

OMG! Why hasn’t Alito recused himself. We need to get rid of him, Clarence and the 3 new conservative folks (I refuse to call them justices) who lied about their intentions for the court.

Do you really think anyone on this corrupt SC would ever resign??? No they have the power to do what they always wanted to thanks to the Bushes and tfg.

Careful now. We all know Joyce is devine. Just don't say it too loudly.

I don’t think she is the kind of person to get too vain. Her chickens will knock that out of her.

Ha! I'm sure she understands.

It’s ok Joyce. No one got hurt on this. Just sharing to us that it happened is important. Thank you so much. We are together. Much respect for what you are doing here.⚖️🇺🇸

Thanks to everyone here, I do feel good that we are in this together with our dear Joyce. She is a treasure and we have learned so much. So many good people in our USA hard to think that we have had an entire R party be so hateful, uncaring about their duty they took an oath to thus disrespecting their constituents. They must be voted out. That is not even close to what the creators of our Constitution intended…clear up to our Supreme (so-called)Justices. What a travesty we are in. Be well all we must stay strong.💪🇺🇸

Still over 3 years of not hearing about it??! Another catch and kill?

Martha-Ann Alito and Ginni Thomas both did, and still do believe that Trump was elected President in 2020. Clarence and Sam believe it too. They are all bona-fide members of the Maga Cult.

They make a mockery of our constitution!

Found it disturbing enough that the case he received on the morning of J6 (Gohmert v Pence) wasn't ruled on until J7 '21 as moot. Can only conclude that, if our courageous officers hadn't held the line and Nancy Pelosi hadn't insisted on staying and proceeding with certification of our votes, the planned occupation by militia/delay being called for by team treason Alito would have rendered a different ruling. His phone records should have been subpoenaed as part of the investigation. I believe it was Eastman that suggested he had 'two' in his pocket and we all know Clarence was the other one. If no one is above the law...

It really should be renamed....The Court of Supreme Ethical Violations. I am curious why it took so long for this to come out.

Yes, good people own their mistakes. Jen Psaki makes that point in her new book.

Wow . Of Course he is a bought and paid for unjust “Justice” there are five more just like him . Pitiful.

He and Clarence Thomas for starters should be removed. How can you possibly serve this Country with any integrity when you’ve bought the lie. And then spread the lie.

Joyce not to worry!!

But I must ask

How can we stop this?

Why hasn't tye supreme court been reigned in?

Why?

Will the United States just allow murder and mayhem ?

The end of our country?

Reading this actually made me shake.

Iam sick w dread

IMO the problem is lack of will on the part of Democrats. MAGA has no desire whatever to rein in a court that's granting them everything they want.

Biden IMO still believes that his political opponents can be persuaded to come back from the brink and work in good faith [that ship sailed under the command of Newt Gingrich].

Senate Democrats are more interested, again IMO, in preserving the "traditions of the Senate" and have no interest in using their power. What's power FOR if not to use? How many hearings have they called on, for example, Supreme Court ethics violations? Setting aside Sinemanchin whose only goal, it seems, is frustrating the President, they could be more active than they are. Even the House of Lords is more productive/less obstructive than the US Senate.

I think a Democratic House would take up restructuring the court if they felt it would go anywhere, but even they are gun-shy about ranting and raving about how it needs to be done, instead waiting for the public (as indicated by polling) to demand change, rather than driving the agenda, which seems to be a MAGA specialty.

The problem is a citizenry that, for many reasons, is only interested in today, and their pocketbook. When they have the proof before their eyes and close them to the truth, what can we do? In the movies, the guy in the white hat arrives in the nick of time and makes a stirring, profound speech that redirects the mass to the right road. No one wants to listen because they are too entitled.

I write a history column for a newspaper, and my last step before sending it off every week is to check all the dates. I learned this early on--the hard way. It's no fun to have to issue a correction. At least you got the century right!

Expand full comment

Regardless of the date, and who it was that supposedly put up the flag that way, you are quite correct that Alito should NOT have had the flag flying upside down on his front lawn.

Another example of how (my opinion) Trump has undermined the rule of law to suit his own ends.

And another opinion: it's way past time for Alito to step down.

And your example of the uproar that would have ensued if Sotomayor or Jackson had displayed a flag (or any other symbol) along other political lines is very believable.

I'm really tired of our justice system being played by the far right to suit its own ends.
