I just love following you online and watching you on MSNBC. I was delighted to see you started a Substack when I checked my emails this morning! I’m looking forward to all your wonderful insights and hopefully some good civil discourse with equally open minded people. From a film-making, Bay Area blue-stater, welcome!
Hey Joyce - we're friends on Ravelry where we discovered our shared Maine connection. I'm so glad you're doing this, can't wait to see where this leads...
Hi Rebecca! I'm so glad to see you and other knitting friends here! I hope we can convince the non-knitters to join us. I'm planning on sharing my Jan 6 Cmte hearings knitting project later this week.
You probably have something else in mind, but I did see a pattern for a knitted judge's wig (British style) when I was searching for judge's wig for a production of Iolanthe. It kind of fits the theme.
I await the chicken photos! I await the knitting photos! I await the dog photos! I await the cat photos! I await the cooking photos! .....And I await the superb Joyce Vance summations on what the HELL is going on in Washington!
There's a lot to be said for reminding ourselves what we're working so hard to make sure we have — a free country where people can follow their own passions, even if they're just yarn and chickens.
JOYCE WHITE VANCE stan here! Thrilled that you’ve joined substack! You always have solid and well thought out insights into what is going on in the world today and I’m always interested in hearing your perspective
Your discourse requires strict scrutiny. There is a compelling governmental interest bringing like-minded folks here to discuss the preservation of our government. Not that the your discourse needs to be narrowly tailored to the events of 1/6, but your precision in explaining the more nuanced issues will be very much welcome in the sea of post-production commentary on the 1/6 hearings.
Joyce, I look forward to your articles on Substack! ...Tom Johnson, B’ham
Thanks Tom! Glad you're here!

As a product of that same blue state (LA, though), welcome! I'm glad you're here.
As a matter of fact, I was born and raised in LA! The valley to be more specific.

That sounds fascinating. Are you going to knit it?
Sadly, I will be too busy costuming the show to knit it. But maybe one of my cast members will do it!
Thank you Joyce for starting this. I just subscribed for a year. Looking forward to you insights and chicken pictures and videos.
Thank you Carrie! I'm looking forward to the chicken pictures too!
I really enjoy your commentary on Sister’s in Law , Twitter and news shows. Looking forward to your wise analysis!

Amen for this... you are the voice of truth, Thank you for all you do, now if you could also start a knitting podcast.... :)
I'm going to start a knitting podcast when I retire :)
Or crocheting 😄😄😄😄
I guess it was inevitable that the hookers would find their way here...
well that is fine, but please don't retire just yet. We need you to help explain the craziness

Very glad to have you here!
You have been a voice in the darkness - am happy to subscribe and pay it forward.
Thank you. I'm hoping all of our voices, together, can shine a light.
The truth!!! Looking forward to your articles and thoughts especially about the hearings. We waited too long for justice.
So excited to read your articles and enjoy the musings. Dogs, cats, chickens, yarn and Joyce over coffee. How can it get better?

Thank you for leading us out of the darkness. Looking forward to your newsletters.
I’m looking forward to your insight at this crucial point in our history.
