I’m an assistant registrar inside town hall instead of the polling station. Still a bit peon but I’ll do it.

Now, my suggestion is to have a national “Reexamination of the Tired Woke Issues Day” so democrats can put together a policy that won’t turn off most Americans. We just may win this one but by default — the default being that neocon Supremes destroyed a woman’s right to choose. Then on the other hand, and there always is another hand, we end this new silly men dressed as women support called trans ladies who have argued their way into girls sports teams. If I had a daughter in high school on a sports team, I would scream. They can have their own team if they want. But they aren’t females.

That one issue along well, puts Trump neck and neck with Biden. Don’t be so obtuse. These issues are a minus in elections. I’m writing a piece calling myself a Republicrat — my new party definition. It borrows from both parties.

Neither party has my full support anymore.

Oh Bill, you have "stepped in it again"!

I’m a Republicrat and proud to it. The future is with the Republicratic Party.

May the Republicrat live long. Long live the Republicrats. Oh Maggie, someone agrees with me and I didn’t like myself. Well, you could always subscribe to my blog, lol.

And Maggie, did it ever occur t you why there are no trans men on men’s teams? Answer. Because women on balance, are not genetically as physically strong as men. Come on sisterina, surrender to science and genetics. My God.

The goddamn bunch bellyaching about trans athletes in high school sports are the same bunch of yahoos teaching teenage football teams in high school that to cheat is to win, that build multi-million dollar stadiums in poor communities to pimp the kid who rushed for 208 yards one week then dump him when he tears his ACL (knees got to last you a lifetime) and turns high school pheenoms into 24 year old washups when they might have become teachers, scientists, engineers. The American high school has long been an intellectual sewer, not from trans athletes but for other causes.

Steve, I’m glad other people sound as crazy as me. But I agree sports is pushed so much. I was never into sports. My high school gym teacher disliked me because I hardly ever did what he wanted. Gold star runner Remmigino. Good man. I spoke about said issues because democrats keep pushing super crazy notions and they/we wonder why we struggle during elections. I want us to win but not after republicans push us into a no win corner. We are oh so dumb. That’s why we are called Dumb-mo-crats.

Expand full comment

And back to my point. And btw, our crowd here usually calls me a hater and one mother actually told me that I was a threat to her daughter presumably a trans woman. But in truth, I am on balance, quite open minded about things. People can choose what they want to be. I have expressed my belief that social media platforms such as tic tok are polluting the ver young minds. To wit, China does not allow the same programming we have here in America to be seen in China. Maybe there is cause to question why. I’ve made up my mind on this but others believe what they want. My main point is we keep push away from the middle hoping that these issues eventually take middle ground. The far right keeps pushing autocratic dictates. Who wins in the end? Well, Plato once observed that Tyranny follows Democracy. But we here in our time, are too stupid to understand this. We will likely go back and forth but in the end, I believe we are going towards and autocratic government. I wish our chief Cheese, Joyce would weigh in.

I mean no harm towards anyone. I believe there should be plenty of room to live our lifestyle. But… the big but is I don’t believe the direction of the left will sell hence we are basically doomed. So let’s bring out the good wine and enjoy our moments.

Likewise, since I was of legal age ... I lived overseas from 1981-1989 and voted in every election I could by absentee ballot!

I too have never missed a vote, local or national election in 63 years. Made some bad choices and some good choices... but I voted best I understood at the time.

I as well, never missed a vote, living at times (years) in Japan, Korea and Europe. Sapporo, Japan was most interesting - like the folks who say they ‘walked to school uphill both ways’ it seemed that Hokkaido had year-round freezing weather and wind (mailing my ballot meant walking to the train station a 31 minute train ride, and returning the same route to my apartment, freezing cold, broken glass flying in the wind. I wore my ski jacket to play tennis in the summer… but enormously proud that I could vote:) Never missed.

Yes, I'm registered to vote & I check my registration regularly.

When I moved here the first two things I did was register to vote & get my library card.

We all need to vote, from local on up, Democracy depends on it!

Joyce, I have to tell you a story as to why I changed parties years ago. I'm 69 now. When I was a young girl and registered to vote I had a family member who was adamant about the Republicans. Everyone in the family registered GOP because of this person.

Not a GOP? She would never talk to you. My parents encouraged me to go GOP and being back in the 1970's and a dedicated family member I became a begrudged Republican. Years passed and I married, had kids and realized my time had come to express MY political rights. My family member passed away and so did my "Republican" membership. My husband said "it's about time"! I have been a Democrat now for years with every vote being hopeful, not fearful. I love receiving my voting ballot with Democrat on the front. To me that's always a sign of my freedom. My country 'tis of thee sweet land of liberty.... let's pray it stays that way. Have a wonderful day

My dear, you have had the power all along (think Glinda the Good Witch of Oz).

One of the beauties of our system is the secret ballot. You have always had the freedom, but congratulations on breaking the bond that held you back. Emotional bonds can be very powerful. I have friends who don't always tell their spouses how they voted. All the best to you Susan!

Thank you for your reply Pamela. I've read though, secret ballots do not always stay secret. Low voting results in some communities might require a full voting requirement exposure. Nonetheless, back in the day of my young voting years I guess family respect was more important. Old fashioned but we survive...as Dorothy said.... there's no place like home. Get out there and vote everyone!

Please, please, please, if you live in Florida check with your county voter registration office to make sure you are set up for mail-in ballots for the 2024 elections. There have been changes made to the laws which may require you to request mail-in voter ballots again. You can request verification & a new voters card via their web site. DON'T WAIT! DO IT TODAY! 🇺🇲

Every single person needs to do this one, Florida, Tx, N/S Carolina , Tn...you name it it needs US! Thanks Ann🙌

Postcards to Voters has been sending reminder postcards to Florida Democrats about exactly that for some time now. Whenever there aren't active election campaigns to write for, that's often what we're doing. Anyone who's not already signed up, here's the link: https://postcardstovoters.org/

Thanks for that link. I have forwarded it to family members, especially those who have moved.

Here in CA we are fortunate to have vote-by-mail - so that is a good thing. Plus we have pretty good weather and lots of fresh produce 😎

I am registered to vote. I vote in an old Town Hall that used to be the school house for this area. I sometimes ride my mare up there and she waits patiently while I vote. It is my neighbors who run the voting so I will not be challenged since we all know each other.

Vote Blue to save this nation.

You’re like me. I knit wherever I can. Even sitting at a concert once. Well, before it started. I have voted since I was a senior in high school. I turned 18 October 27, 1967 and I even worked on Nixon’s campaign since I was from Arlington and drove into DC. Now I’ve been an election inspector for eight years. It’s my duty!

I’m pushing this from this side too. Yes I am, and voted in ALL elections. It’s the main issue nobody wants to give due focus to!!! Our voting stats are deplorable but it’s usually his fault , her fault, their fault....no it’s OUR a fault period.

I'm excited about the little girl in the pink dress behind you, Joyce - looks like her parent(s) are making VOTING a family affair! I grew up in a family where voting was considered a sacred trust. As a result, my younger brother, Patrick Lippert, was head of Rock the Vote in 1992 when that organization registered 3000,000 young people to vote in the Presidential election.

I was a poll worker in 2020 here in AZ and was so pleased at the number of children who came with their parents and watched the process, as well as the #’s of new voters (not all young people!).

You are correct about my parents! And Patrick, who had full-blown AIDS, poured everything he had into Rock the Vote. He also conceived of and put together the 1st Elton John Oscar Night Party (March 1993). He died in July 1993 at the age of 35, still working on Rock the Vote. Like numerous people before him, he gave his life to the cause. My deepest thanks to you and everyone else who is working to expand voting opportunities for all.
