In a moment where I suspect many of you, like me, are having difficulty focusing on much beyond the tragedy taking place in the Middle East, I want to gently direct your attention back to the trial that will get under way in Fulton County, Georgia, in just a couple of weeks.
I feel as though I am in a very interesting class here. Thank you. I have never known as much about the law, or about candidates running for office in other states, or the Supreme Court (except for RBG), or what is going on in Congress as in these last 7 or 8 years. Part of it was I didn’t have the time to devote to it but part of it is realizing the necessity for knowing my stuff as a citizen of this country. I am so glad to be learning all this while at the same time I realize we all need to be alert if we want to “keep the Republic.” Thank you, Joyce. And thanks to all who respond to make us more aware.
Thanks, Joyce, for that detailed explanation. I love a good example and you sure supplied one. Seems that Judge McAfee takes his job very seriously. I appreciate that.
After the fascist-style attacks on norms, institutions, laws and opposition party in order to promote one man as our alleged savior, each such assertion as to the standing of the court and the rule of law is a reminder the America still lives and breathes.
Wow! Thank you for explaining that so clearly. I agree, it is comforting to know this judge is clearly on top of things. And thank you, also, for bringing our focus back on this. At least for a little while. The chaos and atrocities in the Middle East are mind numbing. But I was just wondering what was going on with the case in Georgia, as we've been following it for weeks. I appreciate you bringing this back to us.
It is always a pleasure to learn from you, Joyce. A legal mind can be a wonderful thing if in the right brain. Thank you! But please forgive me for straying from today's Civil Discourse to address another important issue we have before us. To wit:
Methinks the Senate needs our help! I plan on sending Tommy Tuberville a postcard asking him to release his hold on our military personnel. It would be awesome if you, Joyce Vance's readers, would join me in doing the same. One postcard, one stamp is all it takes. Do I think it will change the Senator's mind? Not likely. But imagine the flood of postcards we send from all over the country landing in his mailbox!
Senator Tommy Tuberville

Of course, you can say whatever you want, but my script will be along these lines:
"You won, Senator! Now, kindly turn our military personnel back over to We, the People. We need them."
I might only suggest that instead of saying “You won” (he didn't, and he knows that), just say “You've made your point” —which he may not think he has, but if someone outside of his own mind reports that he has, he may feel sustained, and thus possibly more likely to release his death grip on this process.
(I'm not saying it will work, with this stubborn old fool/enemy of democracy (don't worry, I’m quite sure he neither reads Joyce's missives here or even staffs it out, he doesn't seem that type), but who knows, your postcard idea might do some good.)
…and by the bye, in the unlikely event he should in fact happen check in here to read, “You, silly old fool… why do you hate America?”, it may be just the thing he needs to hear.
I know that if my wife said that out loud across the breakfast table one morning, I might interrupt my sip of coffee and sputter “What?! I'm not like that! I don't hate America!”.. And she'd say “well it sure is starting to look like that”.
Bob over on Robert's Today's Edition suggested the same as you have. I agree with you both. I hope people who are thinking of writing a postcard read this and follow your suggestion. Thanks, Mike.
I have been watching the court on YouTube and agree with the reassurance I feel after watching Judge McAfee conduct the proceedings. He comes across as competent and fair; patient and well intentioned.
Good late evening Joyce - Thank you for this update in which two sinister factions are trying to wiggle out of accountability and apparently not expecting Judge McAfee’s astute and measured response. This is going to get really interesting. Much appreciation for your hard work and dedication to giving us clarity and hope 🇺🇸🗽🗳️
Thank you Joyce. Yet again you point out the nuances in the cases before the American people concerning tfg and all those who made it a point to be around him when he attempted to overthrown our system of government. It’s also comforting to have pointed out to us that not all in the judiciary are very possibly complete sell-outs even though they may be appointed by that party of your seat on the court.
Always nice when people live up to our hopes, rather than down to our expectations.

God help the Gaza people! Help us find peace.
Ditto. Norma, you stated my feelings much better than I could.
@Norma Lee Kerns Barnhart: Ditto from me, too! You expressed it beautifully!
Good to read something reassuring these days. Thanks

Truth can matter.
Hugs to your wife, Mike!
Perhaps we could say we hope he has recovered from his unorthodox trip down the airplane stairs. Too much?
LOL! A different kind of Get Well card, I'd say, but it may work, Karen!

Grand idea! Let's do this!
Yes, Carol, let's!
✅
Yay!
Great idea! I'm in.
Thanks, Ginny. The more the merrier!
Postcard in the mail, thx for the idea!
Yay, thanks, Julie!
Thanks for the inspiration and contact info. Just finished mailing "get out the vote" postcards and added this to the bundle for the postal service.
Many thanks, Margaret!
I sent my card to Tubberville-)( spelling his name incorrectly on purpose)
LOL, I get it, Carol...thanks!

Oh my, I’ve never been the first to comment! Always lovely hearing your analysis, Joyce, thank you!

Thank you for your always enlightening writing Professor!
That’s a nice, encouraging read to close out the night. Thanks, Joyce....
That was good.
Hmmm, competence. Hmmm. Guess that was left out of the selection process for Cannon. Swapped out for loyalty and arrogance.
Let’s get these shows going before people (Milley) get executed.
There is a hearing on Jack Smith's proposed PTO on October 16 next Monday. Others at risk as well.
Smart judge. Jumping ahead, his astute rulings will ensure a successful appeal.

Can’t Ed it on a mobile platform, unfortunately.
