So much that is disgusting these days resulting from the current regime's policies and lawlessness. I've almost given up on commenting in an attempt to retain my sanity and reduce the outrage and sadness I feel these days. I'm grateful to you, Joyce, for being here and being the filter through which we learn about these cruel and illegal actions, and for the enlightenment of We the People on how we can continue to resist. As you say, we're in this together. Stay safe!

Jen Andrews's avatar

Sometimes it's all you can do to just read it. We've missed you.

Marli's avatar

Yes, outrage and sadness each and every day

Cathy Cassels's avatar

Thank you Joyce for keeping us on top of things . . . it’s hard not to be perpetually discouraged, when every day seems to bring some new horror or another! Please tell me that the extradition hearings won’t wind up in front of Judge Aileen Cannon . . . that’s all we need is Trump intervening so those despicable men don’t have to face the charges back in the UK . . . that would be almost like issuing them a pardon . . . 🤮

Mary Corredor's avatar

"Perpetually discouraged" This is a perfect description of how I feel these days.

The killing of fishermen, of innocent men, women, and children--be they American, Israeli, Palestinian, Iranian, or citizens in other countries in the Middle East--just absolutely sickens me, as does seeing that orange-faced jerk insert himself into every venue and making it all about him. (Even Had to be dragged off the stage at the WC Final so the Spanish team could celebrate among themselves--unreal. It's ALWAYS all about the Donald.)

Seriously? Republicans and members of his cabinet cannot see that this man is a dangerous malignant narcissist? I do not feel one bit sorry for people like Cronyn who lost their elections after gluing their lips to his ugly anatomy. IMO, they are traitors.

Cathy Cassels's avatar

Well said! 👍 The Republicans in Congress are putting themselves & their party ahead of the country . . . some of them have their lips glued to Trumps ass, but I think for most of them it’s not about Trump personally, it’s about preserving their Party’s power! 🤮

Mary Corredor's avatar

I agree--power at all costs. The sense of entitlement is nauseating.

As to testosterone testing: Do we need more people thinking with their dicks? Hegseth—Patient Zero, a man whose idea of manliness includes sneak nighttime bombing, neglected protection of Middle East bases, shooting unarmed survivors at sea.

Misogyny and Toxic Masculinity seem to be the orders of the day in tRumplandia. I wonder if anyone has told our secretary of Forever-War that alcoholism causes Low-T?

David J. Sharp's avatar

Probably. But all those brain muscles affect hearing too.

David J. Sharp's avatar

Absolutely correct! These Trumpish days, rape seems to be an essential part of “manliness” … Make America Dumb Again.

Susan Stone's avatar

Stupid and criminal are descriptors that come to mind.

Keep America Dumb works too...

I am quite sure that Kegsbreath projects just like his personal god -tRump- does. Someone needs to tell him that just because he has low testosterone levels, is no reason that everyone else should. If he needs to artificially “pump up” to feel masculine, that is his concern, not the rest of the military. Frankly, we already noticed his stammering, inability to concentrate, and fear of being called out for the coward he is. An injection won’t help. Any way, everyone already knows an artificial excess of testosterone makes you more stupid than you already are. Not a good idea.

David J. Sharp's avatar

Plus, he has enough testosterone to be stupidity personified. Hegseth, Trump, Vought, Miller, Vance—all uneasily sharing a single brain cell … but without the winning personality of a golden retriever.

The current situation can be distilled quite succinctly: However it came about the Presidency is now occupied by a common thug whose entire life has consisted in skirting if not frankly ignoring the law and surrounding himself and placing into as many positions as possible sycophants with equal disregard for the law, who have to further debase themselves by denying a basic fact, namely that this moron lost the 2020 election by more than seven million votes. So of course he has done everything he possibly can to further destroy the rule of law and in effect is functioning as a dictator. His one north star is accumulating wealth by whatever means possible and whether some action is good or bad for our country is purely coincidental. Actually, he does have another guiding principle which is racism and cruelty, manifesting in the lawless reign of terror against immigrants, whose entry into the country we permitted for cheap labor, most of whom are productive law-abiding workers paying more taxes than he does. In a just world every Senator who did not vote to convict him in the first impeachment trial would loose their seat for those cynical calculations were step one in the ongoing unravelling. Recall the situation: aid for Ukraine was already approved but before he'd' release it "I need you to do us a favor" (which was to announce an investigation about something to do with Biden - mind you, not actually investigate, just announce) as transparent a corrupt act as one can imagine and a clear demonstration of how he puts his own interests ahead of everything else including the oath he took to see that the law is faithfully executed. A toxic amalgamation of greed, narcissism grandiosity, racism, misognacy; ignorance and delusions almost impossible to believe to be present in a single person.

Jen Andrews's avatar

The man gleefully takes oaths he never intends to honor.

All his marriage vows, for example.

He himself has no honor, but note how often he says "believe me". Trustworthy people never say that, their actions speak. As do his.

Janet Myers's avatar

And the systematic destruction of anything he cannot personally own in DC and from shore to shore.

Janet Myers,

Note that everything Trump touches becomes corrupted. (supported by the powers that live in the shadows.)

The pool is a disaster. The areas around the White House are being torn down to create a "Ball Room" in honor of himself.

He wants to build an ark in honor of himself. I beg an answer .... someone, PLEASE...explain to me WHAT HAS HE DONE TO SERVE AND TO LIFT UP THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA???.....TO INCREASE THE RESPECT TOWARDS OUR NATION FROM OUR BELOVED ALLIES???.....TO MAKE SURE OUR CHILDREN HAVE AN EXCELLENT EDUCATION AND ARE QUALIFIED TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES REGARDING LIFE'S MAJOR DECISIONS....SUCH AS ....CHOOSING LEADERSHIP FOR OUR COUNTIES, STATES AND COUNTRY AND MILTARY!!!

Our allies are in shock...numb....dumbfounded as they observe the crumbling of the United States of America!!! This "President" starts a war in Iran without speaking with the Congress...without the approval of the representatives "of the people, for the people, by the people"!!! Just because this battle along with others in the middle east does not physically touch us, it does NOT mean it does not affect us!

We will be held responsible for the death and destruction of lives, opportunities for the education of children, working for peace and unity to complete projects that would contribute to Democracy, Peace, Unity, Friendships, Working together to build a planet that is healthier, one that promotes provisions for the basic necessities for the building up of lives ....of families....of friendships/working relationships for the health of our planet!!!

As a physician, this testosterone talk is so naive and uninformed. It is not a benign, simple, or cheap thing to do.

It seems so odd to me that the military would proceed with HRT in men after so much rancor about HRT for transgender citizens. "Not OK to tamper with God's way," unless it makes you more of a manly man. They just don't see the hypocrisy.

15 weeks to midterms.

Jen Andrews's avatar

And in the medical community in general, HRT is a poorly understood and usually disregarded concept for the people who truly benefit from it: women. Whose hearts and brains and peace are protected by well managed hormone therapy.

David J. Sharp's avatar

Note that the DoJ is “pulling back” investigations into all areas Donald Trump has transgressed: white collar crime, civil rights violations, ICE investigations, sexual (and pedophile) crimes. The new face of Trumped America.

Barnation Station's avatar

So, let me get this straight….the FBI doesn’t exist anymore than the DOJ?

U.S. District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín heard arguments on Friday from both sides in the emergency motion to pause the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger in an 80-minute hearing in Oakland. She did not issue a ruling Friday but said she would do so by July 22, this coming Wednesday. Twelve states are seeking the temporary restraining order to bar the companies from closing the deal for up to 28 days. This would be a prelude to a further ruling on a preliminary injunction, which would perhaps pause the transaction indefinitely, or until the legal process plays out. As for the UK, the pending merger faces more than a month of regulatory uncertainty because Parliament has closed its doors for the summer. The European Commission, the EU's antitrust enforcer, is also expected to issue its decision on the merger by next Wednesday.

The whole picture of this regime is nothing but batshit crazy prosecutions and revenge. There is no more justice. I think we are getting a pretty good idea of how so many minorities have felt all these years when they knew good and well that nothing would be done so that they could see justice for the wrongs done to them. If we manage to come out of this intact, may we not forget what injustice we’re seeing now feels like.

Sounds like the fixes are all lining up in trump world. A sad state or 50 states of affairs. trump seems to be running a game show where he is constantly the winner. I'm only surprised he didn't make a scene when delivering the World Cup trophy to the Spanish team just days after barring any trade with Spain. Dammit, I'm gonna miss their big olives with the pimento inside. Have a glorious week. I yield back my time.

I simply cannot understand how corrupt orange thing has made this Country and how we will deal with it the next 3+ years. I have to pray that God has a plan for us. He has ruined this Country in such a short time and again, Congress could do something but the GOP majority are cowards! Damn it all!

Janet Myers's avatar

I have to remind myself that he is not the architect of this horrific plan but instead he’s the perfect deplorable to distract the masses while the decades long conspirators detonate their plans. They stir up all the ingredients and use all the tools: ignorance, religion, racism, misogyny, scapegoating, blackmail, wealth disparities and other social and economic tensions. Of course the list goes on and on. Honestly, every time I hear or read Trump did this or that I want to scream that it’s the cabal, we’re just focusing on the POS they cultivated, certainly blackmailed and now rely on to spring the traps they’ve been setting all these many, many years at all levels of business and government all these many, many years.
