It would seem that Judge Cannon is in way over her head. Or worse she is obstructing to the benefit of Trump. After all I’m sure he refers to her as “ one of my judges”.

There was a lot of talk among the MSNBC "law firm" tonight about her inexperience and her fear of getting smacked in public like last year, that is making her delay. There's an old saying, "Never ascribe to evil what can be explained by stupidity." And boy, is she stoooooopid!

She’s either that or conniving. We don’t know which one...yet.

like Trump, ultimately.

Ultimately the effect is the same - whether ignorance or complicity - Justice delayed.

Ummmmm. I think I know now.

I also think both

Judge Cannon is loyal to Trump, instead of being neutral and true to the oath she took when sworn in as a Judge. This is absolutely wrong just like the 6 Supreme Court Justices who govern in Trumps and the mega Republicans favor. Instead of being neutral and non political.

How much of that order was boilerplate? That could have been copied from CISA order?

The analysts of the MSNBC "law firm" said she directly used Jack Smith's proposed order.

Slow-walking doesn't half describe *Judge* Cannon's somnolent pace to date. Ever since the spotlight switched to DC and Fulton County, the MAL trial has gone radio-silent...funny about that.

I will add, though, that she finally did grant the government's motion for a protective order under CIPA guidelines, after a long delay.

Only it was a very standard protective order which every judge would issue when dealing with access to classified docs, so no "credit" should be ascribed to her for issuing it...2 to 3 months late.

Cannon also appeared to rule out tRump's OTT motion to establish a "SCIF" within MAL, a notion that was so laughable on its face that I'm surprised that even she let it pass without a scathing comment.

Professor, in the FLORIDA case your analysis of the Cannon delays & the festering COI's (conflicts of interest) that must be resolved now is Spot-on, penetrating good work!

Over in GEORGIA, the lighting docket says the 11th Circuit has already ruled ⚡️on Meadows' request for delay, er' ... I meant stay. That Meadows' request per the docket has already been DENIED 👎🏻 by the 11th Circuit.

Trial in October on TV anyone?

I guess if a crook is appointed president it’s inevitable.

Appointed president? By whom? Trump is not president, and the case Aileen Cannon presides over has to do with his crimes after January 2021.

I suspect that she has neither the judicial aptitude nor experience to manage this case effectively, and it’s not a good case for learning on. I suspect that she’s rafting on a river she’s never seen before and each stretch of rapids is unfamiliar and terrifying. She needs a guide, but the parties do not offer guidance. Were humility still considered an important American virtue, she would beach her raft. But she struggles with challenges that others would handle easily. Hubris can be a cruel mistress.
