I think WE need the regime change…..

Daniel Solomon's avatar

I asked Gemini AI how to quicky get a regime change.

"While not a direct "mechanism" for immediate removal, public pressure often influences the speed and direction of political shifts:

"Peaceful Protest: Large-scale demonstrations can signal widespread public dissatisfaction.

"Legislative Pressure: Citizens contacting their representatives to advocate for specific oversight or policy changes.

"Voting in Midterms: Changing the party in control of Congress can significantly alter the "regime's" ability to implement its agenda.

"Note: As an AI, I’m programmed to focus on legal and peaceful processes. I cannot provide instructions or strategies for illegal acts, violence, or extra-constitutional coups."

I am in a deep Red state. The major office holders are Republican and don't want to hear from Democratic citizens. What a shame. At least we have hope at the polls.

Epstein, Epstein, Epstein!!!!

Gwendolyn McEwen's avatar

Daniel, wasn't the term Baghdad by the Sea coined by Herb Caen?

Joel's avatar

Oh my, someone else who remembers Herb Caen!

Gwendolyn McEwen's avatar

Joel, I was such a fan of his that during the many years I lived overseas my dad faithfully clipped all of Herb Caen's columns and mailed me a packet every couple of weeks!

Will Mayer's avatar

I think that was "Baghdad by the Bay."

Kats in the Cradle's avatar

Herb Caen coined the nickname "Baghdad by the Bay" to reflect San Francisco's diverse and multicultural character. -Wikipedia

Susan Stone's avatar

I remember Herb Caen, too. Wasn't he a journalist/columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle?

Jen Andrews's avatar

I don't think you needed Gemini for that

Steve Beckwith's avatar

I wonder what ChatGPT would say to that? IT's handlers don't seem to have so many compunctions.

And Republicans who sat down and thought about what is best for every-day Americans and not just how they'll do in November's primaries and, in Lindsey Graham's case, when he'll get the next golf invitation to Mar a Lago.

BTW - Lindsey Graham can finally be kicked to the sidelines in November. Vote for Dr Annie Andrews!

bitchybitchybitchy's avatar

When was the last time any GOP politician gave a rat's arse for ordinary Americans ?

It's simple. Trump and his oligarch lords and ladies have the Devine Rights of Kings to all the world's wealth. So, get out of our way or get bombed, decapitated, imprisoned, deported and so forth. We are mighty. You are weak. You MUST learn to be happy to make personal sacrifices for our enrichment.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Time to ditch that miserable little man.

JK's avatar

He's the quintessence of a "cracker."

Debi's avatar

There are a good number of "miserable little men" in the current administration and it is time to ditch all of them.

Susan Lee's avatar

No kidding! Total regime change!

Joel's avatar

Good to know someone else is saying it out loud, like me.

Always remember: we, the people, are the architects of it all. Trump's goons didn't forcefully seize power--we elected him to lead us. We support and encourage obscene wealth with every dollar we send to Amazon. We weren't threatened--we did it all enthusiastically. We could have said "no" when it would have made a difference.

Barbara F's avatar

With all due respect, Linda, whatchu mean "we"? I sure as hell didn't vote for any of these idiots! But unfortunately, a few too many of our fellow citizens did...

And we may get it. There are law firms out there protecting our voting rights and preparing for the inevitable assault on free and fair elections. Marc Elias' law firm in particular. Check out Democracy Docket, and learn how to make sure your vote is secure and counted, and be prepared to work harder at getting that done. It's necessary to get the regime change we need to protect what's left of America and the Constitution. Our freedom depends on it.

And support those firms standing for what's legal and just.

Kathleen Weber's avatar

You mentioned that Trump lacks discipline --he also lacks foresight, compassion, self-knowledge good taste, etc.

shee-rah's avatar

He also lacks knowledge of the Constitution.

Kathleen Weber's avatar

Constitution? Seriously what's that?

Mary's avatar

The list of what he lacks is exhaustive

JK's avatar

it's infinite

Bonnie Svarstad's avatar

Add to this he has selected a staff of enablers who only make matters worse. A real mess.

Aaron Reifler's avatar

Yes, he is rich in deficiency.

Be also aware, he, himself, could not possibly write those posts. They are carefully constructed sentences that make sense when you read them. These posts are the work of one of the Stephens - Cheung or Miller, IMHO.

A woman who is always with him named Natalie Harp may be responsible?

Certainly NOT Trump! “I don’t use the internet!”

Lynne's avatar

Because fully autonomous weapons not requiring human intervention and domestic mass surveillance of America's citizens is too WOKE when you are an authoritarian dictator type. This administration is disgusting!

A long but very interesting essay on AI development, by CEO of Anthropic Dario Amodei.

Highly recommend!

Thanks! Also: look up Tristan Harris. He’s brilliant and an ethicist.

LiverpoolFCfan's avatar

Love him. Used his "Your Undivided Attention" in my social media class 4 years ago. We need a lot more like him in the tech industry!!

ELIZABETH Craze's avatar

Does he know what Woke means??? He and his fools think Antifa is a political group. At least they throw those terms around and Maga listens without doing research.

Doc Blase''s avatar

The opposite of woke has to be asleep. Which is how they want the MAGAe.

Thanks Joyce. Keep up the good work!

It is unfortunate that it takes a corporate entity with a first-tier law firm to take on Trump's regime of fear and/or favor. How could individual citizens afford it?

It's interesting that the administration apparently wants to use Anthropic's system or software for mass surveillance. For every company like Anthropic with something akin to principles, won't there be at least one or two other companies willing to to do the administration's bidding without letting the public know anything about it?

DW's avatar

But I gather anthropic is far better at what it does than other companies

Louise's avatar

If I remember correctly, Anthropic is the only firm that is approved to provide their AI services to the Defense Department.

In that case, their bullying has only made their lives more difficult.

Too bad these crude, thoughtless individuals don't know how to negotiate civilly.

The more I hear about Trump-Putin, the more apparent it is that instead of selling the US down the river, this president is selling the US to Russia.

Ms. Jodois's avatar

Anthropic isn’t “deciding our country’s future”…it’s deciding who it is willing to do business with.

Ted H.'s avatar

I believe Anthropic is acting in the manner of a "responsible citizen/corporation." Money is apparently not their first objective; the lives of all the worlds people would/will be adversely affected if an autonomous machine has the "authority" to kill anyone. Thank you Anthropic for standing up for humanity. It is the right thing to do. A great example for others.
