Today, after Donald Trump announced it on Fox and Friends, law enforcement told the public it had apprehended a suspect who turned in after confessing to the murder of Charlie Kirk to his father, a former Sheriff’s Deputy and minister.
“We have to have quick trials,” he said on “Fox & Friends.” “I call it quick trials because in China, they do have quick trials."
Yeah, that's pretty rich coming from the outlaw and (finally) 34-times-convicted felon and adjudicated sexual assaulter whose MO for decades has been to obstruct and deceive the courts endlessly with specious legalistic bullshit and evasions, game the appeals process to the max, and otherwise throw as much sand into the court system's gears as possible.

Seem to have overlooked the need for due process, and analysis by people who have access to facts. Not Jay's doing: his columns and the discussion are pretty thoughtful and careful.
I read that he hated Kirk because Kirk wanted the Epstein files released. Whatever the motive, the shooter was a rightwing loon with a morality quotient in the negatives. I wonder how the 10 Commandments got by him when his dad is a Christian pastor. We are living in a world of absurdity.

I remember during my 32-year career in state and federal courts of our country, mostly for one wonderful and brilliant judge, criminal defendants were always called Mister or Miss and their last name out of tradition and general respect because they enjoyed the “innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt” Constitutional standard, and were even shown that basic humanity after conviction. I have a hard time giving the honorific of Mister to that monster.

It is invaluable to have someone so experienced in dealing with criminal law, not to mention someone who is as intelligent and dispassionate as you, to enlighten us.

I know people here in Alabama who voted for him, people with college degrees. It's hard to believe people can be so blind. He was adjudicated as a rapist and sexual predator in civil court during E. Jean Carroll's defamation suites against him. He is indeed guilty, but not convicted. But, boy, does he owe E. We have gone through so much and have experience so much that most people have learned that a speedy trials often result in a miscarriage of justice. Why some people believe in his travesty about our laws is a mystery to me.
