I have known Louise Jones for a very long time. That means that I know Former senator and current Alabama gubernatorial candidate Doug Jones’ secret: He has a smart, fearless wife who will hold his feet to the fire when necessary, but who provides him with unrelenting support.
It’s so easy, especially in a society that leans Misogynistic, to dismiss women who are true forces of nature in their own right as “just the candidate’s wife.” We don’t have to look any further than Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, and Jill Biden to take the point, and I would add Louise Jones to that list.
Tonight’s conversation is about more than just Alabama. Louise spent years in D.C. as an acute observer of what was breaking in our politics, and she did it from the vantage point of an insider. She understands what it takes to run a campaign, especially an uphill battle for the blue dots in red states. She understands the importance of state officials in an era when the presidency has been corrupted. Most of all, she is both principled and pragmatic, a duality that too many people in our politics miss the mark on. So it’s a special pleasure to have her with us tonight.

I live in Kansas and have become the caretaker of my husband 2 years ago. He has Parkinson's /Dementia and Kidney Disease.
Last election he was still mobile and (semi) independent when he went to vote. When He came back, he first question was "I thought I was suppose to vote for president". He had missed the most important question on the ballot and only filled it out part way.
This year I applied for mail-in voting for him due to his mobile and health situation. With Trump attacking mail-in voting I am scared that he may not be able to vote; and since I am his caretaker I cannot get out and leave him to vote.
This scaring the hell out of me!!!
