I want to speak up for mail-in voting. We have been doing our voting by mail in Washington state for many years. It has increased voter turnout for all voting. Local, state and federal. We have our ballots for about 2 weeks to become familiar with what is on it. (And, Yes Donald they are paper ballots which can be recounted and/or inspected if needed.) They can be either returned by mail or deposited in drop boxes that are monitored during the election period. After sending your ballot in, you can go online and see if your ballot was received and if it has been counted. This is important, because no one else can submit your ballot, for you. We have had very few attempts to vote in an irregular fashion. Occasionally someone tries to vote for a deceased spouse or some such thing. But it is rare and can easily be caught. We also have voting places where people who are new to voting, can get registered and ask questions. Anyone who would like to, can also vote there when the polls are open. As I say we have been doing mail-in voting for many years and we like it, because it works!
