Today, in Alexandria, Virginia, a senior federal judge from South Carolina, Cameron Currie, heard oral argument on consolidated motions filed by former FBI Director Jim Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James in their separate criminal prosecutions.
I'm rooting for Comey and James to have their cases dropped. Trump doesn't seem to realize that all his "enemies" are stronger, more articulate than he is, and they have better legal representation. He has never realized that at heart he is a loser.
Stephen, it is important to remember that Trump can't stand having anyone around him or in his toddler pool who is or acts "smarter" than he is and Miller, Vought, and Vance work hard to please their Toddler boss with such candidates, while they try to run their own scams under the radar. It truly is despicable! I keep trying to think of other words beyond despicable, nasty, disgraceful, toddleresque, to describe this appalling collection of anti-Americans, but I am running out of new ones. They meet the criteria for all the ones I have thought of to date.
You could try the Shakespeare insult generator... it has a flip book w/ three tiers on every page... the mix and match possibilities are endless! ~;o). It has the definitions on the back of each phrase or word too so you know exactly what you mean when you say it!
I think we all feel the same way. I think we will have to create new words altogether. Like so many people who have few ideas of their own, they simply sap your energy.
It’s long past time for Federal Court judges to sanction DOJ attorneys who commit ethical breaches and/or deliver intentional misrepresentations of fact to the Court.
The behavior of the Government in this matter is an embarrassment. This can’t stand, and I hope it ends with significant sanctions on the perpetrators.
The comments on truth of comey’s statement are amusing — sounds like a problem on the first test in a course in logic.
I’m currently in the audience of your Houston event reading this and eagerly awaiting your arrival! AND in awe that you can crank this out while also traveling and book signing. You’re a boss!
Was there, too, and it was a fantastic forum! Got in the car after a quick bite to eat, and Joyce was live with Stephanie Ruhle! Wow. Don't know how you do it all, Joyce, but hope you get some good sleep tonight and take care of yourself!
and ethics, and skill. Seems like we're looking at a couple of factually baseless and illegitimately motivated cases incompetently and dishonestly prepared and poorly presented by an unqualified and improperly appointed attorney. What a disgrace.
>>>Perhaps anticipating problems with the validity of Halligan’s appointment, Attorney General Pam Bondi tried to back-bless the indictments, filing that she had reviewed the grand jury proceedings. But the Judge pointed out this morning that wasn’t possible because they hadn’t been fully transcribed.<<<
So... um... Bondi lied. Through her teeth. Again. I'm just shocked, I tell ya!!
The irony is that James Comey has been indicted for lying to Congress when Bondi and Patel (and others in the Trump administration) have also done this.
I agree with Susan Stone here. And Eric Swallwell has been informed that he’s next up on trump’s hit list; another mortgage fraud case. At least they’re consistent. This is all trump knows to do; sue and harass. Every last one of his enablers needs to feel their own bite of justice to the fullest extent of the law and as soon as possible.
Swallwell said that what surprised him was it took Trump so long to go after him. As he pointed out, he is the only one left with a viable lawsuit against the orange fartsack.
I read this as being about the very incompetent, the competent, and the highly motivated.
Really like these lines: “People here are motivated. Several people told me about successes in the election last week, where they unseated MAGA school board members. They understood that what they had done mattered.”
You provide great hope that Trump will fall on his ass.
In these prosecutions, I do not think it’s the merits of the case, nor even the eventual verdict, if any, but rather about all the noise they can make along the way.
Not just noise, but all the toilet paper that gets thrown into the appellate courts when the crap excreted by Trump's AG stooge lawyers gets flushed down the toilet with the initial verdict and eventually ends up plugging the cesspool at the Supreme Court.
I know this sounds preposterous but can't Bondi be held accountable for perjury, or is it OK for the Attorney General to never know what they are doing?
Of course, she can. Signing that document was under oath and she lied — she perjured herself. But it’s her doj that would make that case so what do you suppose the chances are?
18 USC sec 1621 - Perjury generally
Whoever—
(1) having taken an oath before a competent tribunal, officer, or person, in any case in which a law of the United States authorizes an oath to be administered, that he will testify, declare, depose, or certify truly, or that any written testimony, declaration, deposition, or certificate by him subscribed, is true, willfully and contrary to such oath states or subscribes any material matter which he does not believe to be true; or
(2) in any declaration, certificate, verification, or statement under penalty of perjury as permitted under section 1746 of title 28, United States Code, willfully subscribes as true any material matter which he does not believe to be true;
is guilty of perjury and shall, except as otherwise expressly provided by law, be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. This section is applicable whether the statement or subscription is made within or without the United States.
My take is that bondi will be the first trumpie up on federal charges as soon as the next Democratic president takes office. She’s also lied to Congress so a Democratic majority could subpoena her. Again though, even if it makes a criminal referral to the doj, she’s not going to get arrested until we get a Democratic administration. I simply cannot fathom what she thinks she is doing by breaking the law all over the place. Previous AGs have been prosecuted and jailed for much, much, much less. She has an incredibly high duty of care as AG; she’s headed for a long custodial sentence imho, and not at club fed. Maybe with all her ill gotten gains she bought an island somewhere with no extradition treaty? The bigger question though is how the big orange turd convinces any one of his magic powers — especially women! How the heck does he get women to risk everything to do his evil bidding?? It’s not that women are any better or wiser than men, but that he treats them abhorrently and they still line up on their knees to eat his shite. That’s some galaxy class grandpa issues.
That’s not what courts do. Cases don’t bring themselves and laws are not self-enforcing. I think what we have here is a serious lack of civics eduction and too much TV: REAL COURTS ARE NOTHING LIKE TV.
Curious: SCOTUS has become a stickler for rules and procedure - perhaps to avoid facing substance - whereas the DoJ’s response to rules and procedure is, “Meh.”
Comey cannot be lying when he says he is standing by his early testimony. And he cannot be tried on whether his earlier testimony was false (it wasn’t) because of the statute of limitations.
However Bondi has lied when she says she reviewed the whole grand jury procedure because (a) she wasn’t present at the procedure and (b) there is no complete record of the procedure for her to review after the fact.
Shouldn’t she be prosecuted for lying? Problem is, she’d have to prosecute herself - absent a special prosecutor - and that just ain’t gonna happen
I'm rooting for Comey and James to have their cases dropped. Trump doesn't seem to realize that all his "enemies" are stronger, more articulate than he is, and they have better legal representation. He has never realized that at heart he is a loser.
Jeff Tiedrich calls them “Ace Parking Garage Lawyers.”

tRump is the Imbecile in the Oval Office who is rapidly using up Roget's Thesaurus! edit: fixed 'Roget's. Danmable spellcheck.
Spellcheck socks!
"grotesque" is my current favorite.
When he has done something particularly awful I steal a line from Wodehouse and use "despicable human odium."
And I'm quite fond of Tiedrich's "Fuckety-bye"!
I love Wodehouse. His ability to turn a phrase delights.
how about treasonous
Ooooo Patricia! I really like "treasonous" and for some reason had forgotten just how apt it is! Thanks!
How about "deplorable"?

That sounds like Jeff , I love his writing!
Same here. My late morning must read!
me too. on point and always good for a welcome laugh.
Gotta love Jeff Tiedrich!
HA!! Good one! Reminds me of Rudy G., so I'll call their firm:
'Four Seasons Bondi, Whitaker, Halligan, and Habba'
:-D
Temu?
Trump's brain doesn't allow him to consciously contemplate the notion that he is a loser. It isn't possible for him.
...now, unconsciously; that is all his brain thinks. Everything he does is compensation.
Well said, Judy. You make a really good point about compensation.
He certainly is very insecure. He needs constant massaging and reinforcement.
Compensation and projection. All his misdeeds are projected onto the Democrats. I'm tired of it, and I hope the rest of the country is as well.
Loser, all the way around… a despicable meat sack with no brains, morals or character. He’s a weasel and a buffoon.
ORANGE TOXIC WASTE!!
Too bad revenge is his strongest trait..
His “strongest trait”?!!? How about it’s his Only Trait.
trump knows he's a loser

I now only want to discuss the PEDOPHILE PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP.
PEDOPHILE PRESIDENT.

Ann Telnaes is brilliant
Spot on and brilliant! As usual for Ms. Telnaes.
Here's a recent one from the New Yorker that I liked.

that's great!
Another good one. Thanks!
Wonderful! I have borrowed it :-)
Love it.
Thank you that this.
Never mind the lips, watch the hands. Both of them.
But they're so tiny...
It’s long past time for Federal Court judges to sanction DOJ attorneys who commit ethical breaches and/or deliver intentional misrepresentations of fact to the Court.
Green Jeans, you are so right, so now how do we get the federal judges to do the appropriate sanctioning?
Thanks for being an advocate for the truth and for transparency, Joyce. 👍
The behavior of the Government in this matter is an embarrassment. This can’t stand, and I hope it ends with significant sanctions on the perpetrators.
The comments on truth of comey’s statement are amusing — sounds like a problem on the first test in a course in logic.
These people are like evil clowns.
"Like"?
Actually, they say the White House store ran out of evil clown costumes a month before Halloween.
They don’t need costumes.
No longer the white house...it's the BIG house..convicts,rapists,liars. PEDOPHILES!!
the big half a house
Double talk?

Plus her classes, husband, 4 kids, chickens to care for! Joyce is Wonder Woman.
1,000% agree!!!
She was great wasn’t she!
THE BOSS!!!
And why does the DoJ think it can lie - e.g., reviewing grand jury proceedings - to the court without repercussion?
Shouldn't there be a consequence??
There should. Even the DoJ should not be allowed to lie or mislead the court.
It's difficult to tell a toddler no.
Especially with one whose fingers are in ears and whose body is cast down in full tantrum.
Of course there should, but there never is.
'Cos they keep getting away with it?
The Department of Occasional Justice?
Lack of experience, maybe?
Bondi doesn't get that excuse. She's a former AG for Florida. Any 'missteps' on her part are deliberate violations of the law and/or protocol.
While I agree, I still think there is a definite level of incompetence there in addition to the deliberate criminal actions.
and ethics, and skill. Seems like we're looking at a couple of factually baseless and illegitimately motivated cases incompetently and dishonestly prepared and poorly presented by an unqualified and improperly appointed attorney. What a disgrace.
Sums it up quite well.
Apparently that, and absolute loyalty, is a requirement for the job.
Does not look like a winning combination.
You’re right. I don’t think any other administration has foundered in the courts so much as this one.
Basically, this lindsay person doesn’t know what the fork she is doing.

I would rather him fall on his sord!
That would take self awareness and courage.
Right you are. He has neither.
That too. But he would probably steal the sword.

Exactly!! I'm sure I wouldn't be getting away with it.
Who are you thinking might hold her accountable?
The court where the case is being tried
That’s not what courts do. Cases don’t bring themselves and laws are not self-enforcing. I think what we have here is a serious lack of civics eduction and too much TV: REAL COURTS ARE NOTHING LIKE TV.
"Justice must be served." - I think that is the only time i can say i will agree with the ORANGE TOXIC WASTE.
BLEACH & IMPEACH!!!

Regarding Mike Davis -
“Lawyer up motherfuc*er”? What is he? Some Mafia thug? How unprofessional.
I wouldn’t hire him to get me out of a speeding ticket.
I agree! It's threatening language, and totally inappropriate.
Comey cannot be lying when he says he is standing by his early testimony. And he cannot be tried on whether his earlier testimony was false (it wasn’t) because of the statute of limitations.
