Apparently falsehood and corruption are a-okay when propping up falsehood and corruption. Anyone surprised?

Lisa Burwell's avatar

Her willingness to cover for the corruption of this administration was so obvious. I hope the Senators, especially those with prosecutorial experience, will press her for substantive answers to the questions!

Of course she knows she’s not covered by the immunity that the president got from SCOTUS. I also hope she’s prosecuted for her illegal actions including bringing vindictive prosecutions and covering up the Epstein files, at DOJ - if not now then after she leaves office!

David J. Sharp's avatar

The dream is to never leave office, to serve daddy until the end of time. And to blame Democrats for having the temerity to question her - and daddy - about Jeffrey, that nice business man so generous to the young ladies? How dare you!

Lisa Burwell's avatar

She should’ve learned from Trump 1.0 that participating in this dishonest admin Will likely put her in jail. The dumpster will throw her under the bus at the drop of a hat.

MJAtlanta's avatar

She seems to have learned from tRump how to never answer a question honestly or directly but with a whole lot of snark... Evil incarnate just like her teacher.

Jonathan Aborn's avatar

The pupil has surpassed the teacher! What a sad, bitter woman. Thoughts and prayers…….

Ted H.'s avatar

Thoughts yes! Not one nice one. Prayers? Not a chance. Snark school girlish, immature, vengeful and vain. Hell won't have her and as was said; tRump will dump her and we can be Glad! GOP chose a real looser! Heavy is the price the rest of us are paying.

Peter Burnett's avatar

Like her boss, she follows Cohn's Rules to the letter.

https://ideas.bkconnection.com/the-five-lessons-roy-cohn-taught-donald-trump-that-guide-him-to-this-day

There's a corollary to Rule 1. Never apologize or admit wrongdoing, ever. Like Mussolini, like Hitler after him, "Trump is always right".

This in turn leads to a further development of the same principle: When Trump loses, he proclaims victory.

After January 6th 2021, that proclamation became the first permaputsch in history, a continuing coup d'état still in progress... and irreversible.

Satan was called "the Father of Lies". My... what it can do for a man to have had Mephistopheles in person for a mentor! And Putin for a backer...

MollyWhitebear's avatar

Well, hopefully all of these MAGAts will face the same music Mussolini did. And soon.

David J. Sharp's avatar

Roy Cohn was truly despicable but smart (evil smart, like Nixon) … Trump, Miller, Bondi et al, are bully dumb—sneering, stupid, insufferable.

MollyWhitebear's avatar

Yeah, thanks to all her cliff notes in those files on each senator questioning her. She can't even snark legitimately without a script courtesy of most likely Stephen Miller.

David J. Sharp's avatar

Not snark, arrogant disdain—snark requires wit.

MJAtlanta's avatar

Excellent point!

Not in the Forever Reich — this is the desperate dream, a New Confederacy untouched by time or reason.

lin•'s avatar

The American military proved an insurmountable obstacle to the Confederacy and to the Nazi Reich. It remains to be seen whether it will prove an obstacle to their heirs - the Republican ChristoFascist state. So far, by federalizing state militias, the Republican regime is using service members as enforcers of the Republican antidemocratic and unconstitutional Project 2025 and the whims of Donald Trump - ie the destruction of the United States democratic republic.

Margaret Reis's avatar

This is different. It is an all volunteer military. It makes a difference.

Richard Waddell's avatar

It will rot, because it is rotten to the core, that is its nature.

Lisa Burwell's avatar

This is when we have to say stop! We need Congress and the judges to resist this president rogue actions. We need them to enforce the guard rails we do have laws what the fuck is going on? Why can’t we get soldiers off our streets and keep unidentified, masked agents from attacking traumatizing, assaulting, and kidnapping Americans off the street indiscriminately and without due process!!!??? I’ve had it. They’ve got to do something of course I’ll go to marches but WTF?

If there’s any justice at all, she will be made to answer to the Florida Bar, who will respond lawfully to her lawlessness.

LINDA ADAMS's avatar

I don’t think she cares. She doesn’t need to be a lawyer as she has other ways of raking in the dollars.

Mary's avatar

I agree. There’s no doubt of that. But don’t you think someone who went through the trouble of becoming a lawyer and has worked so long at it would feel the pinch of loss.?

LINDA ADAMS's avatar

I can only hope so, but I think probably not.

Mary's avatar

I think you are right.

Ivan White's avatar

You say, "I hope the Senators, especially those with prosecutorial experience, will press her for substantive answers to the questions!"

I say, "When cross talk and yelling over one another to make a point for whatever reason, no SUBSTANTIVE answers/comments will be spoken by ANYONE that makes sense!!

Robot Bender's avatar

Can she be held in contempt of court?

Sandra Rapke's avatar

No one to prosecute her. They control it all.

Frank Sanger's avatar

A. G. Bondi speaks as one so soaked in corruption that untruth is pretty much all that is available to her.

Lisa Burwell's avatar

None of the questions the Senators asked were answered. It’s so obvious That she’s part of multiple legal coverups. Her motto is.: deny, deflect and obstruct. Looks like she got away with it too, but I hope the facts , when they surface, will expose her corruption.

David J. Sharp's avatar

Bondi, like Trump (and like Bibi), hope for an Eternal Reich … to avoid just such exposure.

Lisa Burwell's avatar

Yeah, when is Congress going to get a backbone and fight back against this rogue executive branch. I have written to my Congress representatives in Senators.

Americans civil rights are being stripped away by this executive branch indiscriminate actions to deploy military and masked ICE agents to indiscriminately traumatize terrorize kidnap and assault American cities, honor streets every day day and day out. This must be stopped. This must be stop. This must be stop. This is not America. This is not America. This is not America. I can hardly stand it! What the fuck is going on and why isn’t anyone stopping it

Marcia Battin's avatar

I listened to very little of this sneering commentary from Barbie Blondi because it was obvious she came to play mean girl, very unprofessionally at that, to an audience of one. She answered no questions, and came prepared with scripts for each of the D Senators. But then again what more could you expect from her?

Talia Giordano's avatar

She gave the committee exactly what we knew she was capable of - nothing.

Patricia F. Neyman's avatar

No, it’s a strategy all of them are using. Deny everything and attack. Before the meeting they have already studied up on who they can attack and how exactly to do it.

Julie M Murray's avatar

Yes, and It was so unskilled and petulant to be laughable.

TCinLA's avatar

She had her responses printed out in the folder she had on the desk.

TCinLA's avatar

She answered questions - only from Republicans. This was an assault on the legitimacy of the Democrats, using contempt.

Frank Sanger's avatar

. . . contempt which of course is required by her boss who explicitly paints all of us Democrats as enemies of the State.

Nancy's avatar

She did have lots of notes she used when replying to the Senators. So, yes, she came prepared to be snarkiness and evasion personified with her nose titled slightly upward like a stuck-up adolescent.

lin•'s avatar

"Barbie Blondi because it was obvious she came to play mean girl, very unprofessionally at that, to an audience of one."

... to the audience of her Republican co-conspirators.

Amazing that she was also chewing gum or sucking candy during the proceedings!

Austin Alwood's avatar

Trailer trash Bondi?

Jan Taylor's avatar

If there isn't, there ought to be some kind of "contempt of Committee" charge, or some such that could be leveled against people like this who play games and refuse to give answers!!

Riversong Pond's avatar

Democrats have to have a majority to pursue any accountability from cabinet members. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize and secure that majority.

Christy's avatar

She’s obstructing their investigation which is their sworn duty. Why do we not have the ability to hold the executive branch accountable for their obstruction? Obviously a big gaping ongoing hole in our administrative infrastructure that they’ve successfully taken advantage of repeatedly

TS's avatar

Wouldn't that be "Contempt of Congress"? Back in the McCarthy days, people went to prison for years for "Contempt of Congress" (Dasheill Hammet, for one, for refusing to answer questions or name names).

Leu2500's avatar

DoJ has to pursue the case. See Steven Bannon & Peter Navarro. Fat chance until we have a democratic AG.

Jan Taylor's avatar

A Contempt of Congress citation can be issued but the recipient must typically have been subpoenaed to testify. It's isn't clear if Bondi was actually compelled to appear via subpoena. (That's why I said "contempt of Committee.") Similar intent, of course. In any case, I wouldn't count on a simple majority to vote for such a contempt order. Alas!

TS's avatar

No, true. Thank you for the information. I appreciate it.

T. Seybert's avatar

The Auntie Maria back of the hand straight into the teeth method always works. I’m starting to sound like a broken record😅

Marthe's avatar

I don’t understand the reference to Auntie Maria and the backhand to the teeth.

I do know that Mom’s backhand was extremely effective in quieting my sarcastic snark.

T. Seybert's avatar

Auntie was also a mom, and someone who wouldn’t take a smartassed remark. From anyone. A quick smack in the teeth said it all. I don’t condone it typically, but it works like a charm with way gone disrespectful plankton. No diss to plankton, it serves a positive purpose, not a criminal one.

Peter Warren's avatar

Too bad there is no way to make her account for those statements and answer those questions.

Cleetus's avatar

The real irony of the day was listening to Bondi obscure, insult and deceive the Senate committee… just days after the Comey indictments. Five years of investigations into Comey with nothing even close to the evidence of lying and misleading statements like we saw today. I guess these folks honestly believe that if they do it on Trump’s behalf then there’s literally nothing they can’t say or do. Just ask Ghislane Maxwell.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Texas gov Abbutt has intentionally blocked the election of a new rep for District 18 (Houston) since the death of Rep Sylvester Turner in March. It used to be a safe blue district before they changed it after trump's orders, but the seat is finally on the ballot for Nov 4th, too.

Bryan Sean McKown's avatar

Could very possibly be much, much earlier like 2025 in the Alexandria court where the Comey prosecution, 1:25-cr-002 MSN, USA vs James Comey, is taking on water & sinking fast.

************

Second 10/8, Wed 6 pm, Good News Update:

Corey's Attorney, FITZGERALD, confirmed a Motion to Dismiss for Selective & Vindictive Prosecution will be filed before The Judge shortly.

************************************************************

Case Context:

Judge Nachmanoff honored the "Speedy Trial Rules" & set 1/5/26 Foran early trial date! Very good timeline for James Comey.

A local DOJ attorney refused the requested "Perp Walk". There was NO perp walk.

FYI, that Attorney refused was fired & now has a civil case of his own

James Comey was NOT taken into custody & there are no limitations on what he can say or do! The case is falling apart.

**************************************************************************************

BTW, "MSN" are the initials of Judge Michael Nachmanoff former hard working Magistrate Judge for 6 years in Alexandria VA. But, the Senate moved the capable Jurist Nachmanoff up to take the power seat.

It gets worse for "Scarlett O'Hara Bondi" as veteran, experienced & smart, PATRICK FITZGERALD, represents James B. Comey Jr.

Forget about it. I already have the "Under" on the Life of this case.

Michael L Hays's avatar

To Bondi's response to Blumenthal--"Don’t you ever challenge my integrity."--, he should have said that her refusal to answer pertinent questions and, in fact, to substitute ad hominem insults for answers challenges her integrity.

Patricia F. Neyman's avatar

He should’ve charged her to define integrity.

RRiveter's avatar

Yes, at times, they were too soft on her, but obviously, didn't want to descend into a personal screaming session.

A doc reads's avatar

Very good point, RRiveter!

Daniel Solomon's avatar

What he could have done, to make a record, is ask the chair to direct her to respond approriately.

Christy's avatar

He should have laughed in her face!!!

I see NO INTEGRITY!!

John Cook's avatar

I think that resisting the temptation to be derailed by personal attacks as Schiff did was the right tactic. You don’t argue with a petulant child.

Michael L Hays's avatar

I spoke about Blumenthal, not Schiff. And a comment on Bondi's performance is not an argument.

Bill Huber's avatar

...pardon me Madam, you lost your integrity with your virginity. Now, we're all getting fucked!

Mike N.'s avatar

The Wizard of Oz is calling….the wicked witch of the west has been spotted in Congress. A real piece of work that one is. If National Guard is still in DC, maybe they can take out the trash.

I’ve been advised not to utter the word “bitch.” But I’ve got to say that there are times when there is no better appropriate word….

I don't know if even that is strong enough to describe that cunt. Oops, did I type that outloud? Sorry, not sorry.

TCinLA's avatar

An old sociology professor once said that, for every slur, there is a perfect illustration of it walking around. These Trumpscum are the embodiment of every bad slur you can think of.

Sophia Demas's avatar

It is unbelievable! If I was a casting director and had to find a cast of characters to portray an evil group, I could not do better than the trump administration....

Caroline (PDX)'s avatar

I watched a few minutes of the hearing before turning it off. I think my exact words were fucking cunt.

lauriemcf's avatar

my thoughts exactly.

FfsBoise's avatar

I love the euphemism "work" for "shit".

I apologize - did I say that out loud?

William (Bill) McGuire's avatar

Why didn't any of the Democrats blurt out the FACT that Bondi's re-election committee received a $25,000 donation from trump while as Atty. General in Florida she was investigating the fake Trump University. She dropped the case against trump after receiving the "payoff". Today, she hammered back at Blumenthal for daring to question her on improprieties. What a laugh. I yield back my time.

RRiveter's avatar

And I'm sure that's one of the ethical violations listed by her fellow jurists in FL.

Frank Sanger's avatar

. . . and her main qualification for her current job.

Cathy 98280's avatar

This ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

Merrill's avatar

It would be presumptuous of "We the People" to expect the US AG to think of the Constitution and the law before protecting her boss, POTUS. There are special places in Hell for people like Bondi..in the end, their defense is always the same: "I was just following orders".

Cathy 98280's avatar

And there are Nuremberg type trials available to the honest patriots who will come after this regime has run its course.

Sandy S's avatar

Yes, she should have been asked if she considered the little king to be her boss. She needs to be on record saying yes or no to that question.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Wouldn't matter. All of them lied during their confirmation hearings, and they're taking orders from people (like Miller and Vought) who we didn't even elect.

Sandy S's avatar

Times change and it is always good to have a record for future trials. :-)

Dave Kirkpatrick's avatar

JD Vance said before the election that if tRUmp won the Republicans should be ruthless in the exercise of power. Well, if there is another election and the Democrats regain power, they should also be ruthless in firings and prosecuting every documented crime committed by the tRUmp admin. Don’t start with the peons at the bottom like they did after J6.

RRiveter's avatar

Ben Shapiro, far right columnist and podcast guy, has surprisingly said something similar, that Maga has to watch itself, as the other shoe will fall.

Christy's avatar

Instead of using lies and rhetoric, we will use truth and our constitutional laws to deliver accountability for the destruction and corruption

Susan Mast's avatar

Is there anyway to contact Pam Bondi! She was childish and argumentative and disrespectful.

RRiveter's avatar

Why bother? You think she gives one shit about a common American's opinions? She's too busy playing cha-cha with her king and counting her millions, while firing competent prosecutors, and ignoring judges' orders. I mean, let's face it. Any ethical lawyer would have never taken Trump on as a client during his copious amount of litigations. Hell, even Tacopina left him, saying that Trump "was unhinged". This is the guy who has represented a boatload of mafiosi, and other heavy hitters. But good old Bondi sticks by her man. That says it all.

Sandy S's avatar

Yes, she's busy being daddy's little girl. But no one is fooled that her game is looking out for herself, as in the way she was prepared to admonish senators today rather than answer their questions. Only trouble for her is that she is playing her game with a man who doesn't play by anybody's rules but his. He can be very swift in throwing the baby out with the bath water. ... As in Pam Bondi? I think she worked around here for a while.

Lisa Botwinick's avatar

Bondi makes me sick. I can’t listen to her lies and blatant arrogance - as if she is superior to an oversight committee or to the Constitution she swore to uphold. Thanks as always for keeping us all informed and motivated to keep active in support of democracy.

Lisa Burwell's avatar

There’s a report that leaks are coming from the DOJ every day concerning the malfeasance behind the curtain.

Katie V's avatar

Blondi won’t get a pardon, because the Democrats will win back the House, Senate and the presidency. It’s too bad she will live out the rest of her life behind bars. Sucks to be her.

Phil Johnson's avatar

I'd be happy if we could determine if, and where, the Epstein autopsy report is... Bondi knows whether or if...

TCinLA's avatar

She won't be getting any pardon's in 2029.

Phil Johnson's avatar

I have a Q: can a pardon (in this case, Presidential) be rescinded somehow? and under what circumstances (fraud, etc.)?

Dale of Green Gables's avatar

The short answer is yes --- but only presumably (as indicated by precedent) if the pardon is not actually received by the individual. Once that takes place it is irrevocable. For example, in 2008, Bush withdrew a pardon for real estate developer Isaac Toussie just one day after announcing it. This was done after new information came to light and before the official paperwork was delivered to Toussie.
