In a world where Republicans have nominated Jim Jordan to be speaker of the House, there’s only one thing to do on a Friday night. We are headed up to our neighbor’s house to have a drink or two, and instead of trying to make sense out of nonsense, I’m going to leave you with nothing but pretty pictures tonight. I’d love to know what you’re up to this weekend.
Our late summer yard is just miraculous this year.
It’s also, unsurprisingly, full of chickens.
You would think that at this point, I would know what happens when you plant tempting veggies and leave them out where the chickens roam. Apparently, I do not.
But there are still plenty of pretty things that they don’t eat.
Poor Ruthie is molting and looks all kinds of terrible right now. It’s making her mean and cranky. She is my spirit animal in this moment.
Also appreciating the intent stalker energy emanating from little Tofu, who loves sneaking up on chickens, but seems to be playing the same game he plays with the big cats when he does it. Thankfully, he has no interest in anything more than playing.
This is a good weekend to surround yourself with all of the pretty things. I’ll be back Sunday night with a look at the week ahead.
We’re in this together,
Joyce
I think Ruthie is all of our spirit animal right now.
I love this so much! The beauty is always out there if we take the time to look. Thank you. 🥰
