On Tuesday, Reuters reported that leadership at the Department of Justice has reassigned “about a dozen senior career attorneys” in the Civil Rights Division to perform perfunctory tasks usually assigned to lower level attorneys, like responding to FOIA requests.
This report reinforces my understanding that the 2024 presidential election was only marginally about the economy. It was really about the deeply held racism and misogyny that our nation has never dealt with in ways that are meaningful and permanent. Even the Civil Rights Movement was seen by large numbers of Americans as wrong and a "slap in the face to white people." Now, it is "christians" the DOJ is supposed to protect, a group that needs no protection, although it does need help for it to be seen as superior to any other faith because it isn't. I have no clue what Bondi's faith is if she has any at all, but it certainly is not Christian. There is no loving one's neighbor, or loving or caring for anyone but herself. I see her as Trump's acting mommy. She will defend her jerk of a son with every fiber of her being because she doesn't care what kind of toddler he is as long as he is hers and she is his. It is disgusting, but just the way she acts. Her law school should be ashamed for graduating such an incompetent fool who has no moral compass so no code of ethics. An oath to her means nothing as this nation means nothing to her. We the People are going to have to be the ones who stand up for people of color, women, disabled persons, veterans, immigrants, people of religions other than the white form of christianity. I have noticed not one Christian action of anyone in the Trump/Vance/Musk administration, not one, and Republicans are not demonstrating any real Christianity either, yet they claim to be trying to protect christians. They are trying to make white male pseudo-christianity the law of the land. There are more of us than them, so we need to make sure that does not happen. Trump and his toddler pool have proven over and over in both of Trump's terms that he is an ignoramus who has surrounded himself with a pool of toddlers who have no clue what it means to govern.
Kamala and Tim conveyed that message succinctly in their rallies but not enough people were listening or even cared. Hillary also reiterated this point when she aptly described Trump’s loyalists as “deplorables”. The fact that Trump’s approval rating is at a low 44-45% , depending on what polling you look at, is atrocious. He shouldn’t be higher than .1%! We are up against the most gullible, ignorant, and hateful people in our nation. We have to be smarter and more prepared than ever to fight the fascism and racism. We fight our battles in the streets with continuing protests. we have been very successful in bringing Elon’s stock prices down by 71%. We. Can. Do. This.!
M L-B: Thirty-seven (37) minutes ago Newsweek reported Trump's Approval rating was 40% approve with 59% disapprove. Orange Face's ratings fall🔻further with Women -- 62% of women disapprove. The Newsweek data was published by Anna Commander, the Deputy News Editor at 10:43 PM EDT before Wednesday midnight.
I am not certain whether Newsweek's polling was taken AFTER Wreck's 180 degree reversals today on Powell & Chi.
Remember he is a lame duck and doesn't care if anyone approves or not. If he wants to be president for another term, he will arrange that. If someone crosses him (voters included), he gets revenge. For other politicians, that means at least public embarrassment and name calling, if not losing their cushy job raiding the cookie jar.
I have been on alert about Wreck since the 2016 Presidential primary in South Carolina. Being a data geek, I noticed that Trump received around 32-33% of his 'base' voters in virtually ever single County of South Carolina .I cannot recall even 1 'outlier' SC county back then
Fast forward to the 4/23/25 data posted by Anna C. at Newsweek last night and Trump's approval rating is 40% & sinking. One poll is a snap shot. But, If you look at polling data from 2016 to 4/23/25, you get political reality.
I so agree -- their bandying about "Christian" is laughable, if it weren't so awful. Theirs is the religion of cruelty, superiority, and arrogance. For Marjorie Taylor Gangrene to have announced that God got rid of evil on the death of the Pope sums it up -- I'm not religious, but of all Popes, Francis was the most humble and inclusive in my lifetime -- something they cannot stand. The cruelty is etched into the faces of Vance and Miller and Homan - these are truly awful people.
Wow, Ruth! How do you really feel??? I couldn't agree with you more. I guess one has to leave one's real self behind (if there ever was one) to survive in a male-dominated society. You know, tonight I saw an Amazon ad that featured the arrow logo. All of a sudden I saw it as a symbol of male domination (but with Peyronie's disease…)
Well said! I can't look at the logo without remembering the recent space trip Bezos spent his billions on. What a waste of time and money, to say nothing of the environmental damage caused by the worst case of small penis syndrome ever.
Sharon, I have learned over time that insecure men think any woman that does not practically worship him, must be a man-hater. I ignore them because it is clear they are misogynists, so I think, who do they think they are hating us but angry that any woman might hate them. The problem, there is far more reason for women to hate men, but most don't.
Recent examples of what you've so vividly described, Ruth, are R.F. Kennedy's plan to create a registry of autistic people launched on Monday by that 'herd immunity' crackpot, NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, collecting data without the consent of autistic people - an initiative with ugly historical parallels, ; and the research project launched by RFK, headed by a vaccine denier, to discover the causes of autism (or rather to confirm RFK's own appalling views on autism).
Meanwhile, the measles epidemic rages on with over 800 cases and two deaths (the largest outbreak since 2000, the year the US officially eliminated the disease. Thus is being virtually ignored by the NIH and CDC -
Emily Mullin in Wired reports that this year there have been 7,5999 cases of pertussis (whooping cough), up from 3,473 cases at this time last year. Unlike autism, these are diseases that are preventable - with vaccines, but tell that to vaccine denier RFK.
If they succeed in setting up this "autism registry", scraping private medical information without permission and in violation of HIPAA, we can foresee additional "registries" of other categories seen as non-conforming to their perspective of "normal".
Didn't the Nazis compile lists of categories of human beings who were Socialist, Jewish, gypsies, homosexual and so on - all of whom ended up being sent to concentration and labor camps where many died or were murdered en route to or in gas chambers?
This is already happening. Wired reported on 18 April that DOGE is compiling a huge database at the Department of Homeland Security using immigration databases from across DHS and uploading data from outside agencies including the Social Security Administration (SSA), the Inland Revenue Service as well as voting records to surveil and track immigrants (and God knows who else). The privacy violations alone are creating concern amongst experts. There are good reasons why this information is kept in separate silos. Insiders have said that this has nothing at all to do with fraud and waste. “Our administration will not rest until every single violent illegal alien is removed from our country,” Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary said on 15 April. It's clear, however, that violent illegal immigrants are far from the only people being targeted. Eventually this master database will be held on servers controlled by Peter Thiel's company, Palantir.
It's hardly necessary to be an "insider" to understand that the wreckage being wreaked on our government has nothing to do with fraud or waste. Anyone who is paying attention can figure out that you don't get rid of fraud and waste by firing everyone and destroyed entire agencies. It's like using a flamethrower to get rid of horned worms on your tomato plant.
Or cutting off your leg to lose weight. This focus on efficency alone in any case is misguided. Policy wonks will tell you that you also have to consider effectiveness. Let's suppose that a hospital increases efficiency by attending to more patients during the course of an average day. However, let's also assume they do this by cutting down on the number of tests needed to establish a confident diagnosisand and that this results in many of the same patients having to revisit the hospital because they are still unwell or getting worse. Efficiency has been achieved at the expense of effectiveness. Now I'm not saying that the Trump administration is particularly concerned about the effectiveness of government spending. They're clearly trying to reduce federal expenditure so that they can afford to extend Trump's first term tax cuts. However, when government spending fails to meet any reasonable policy objective then that soon become noticeable and this will eventually not be good for citizens or for the government if it wants to stay in power.
Russell, I don't believe it is about efficiency or effectiveness at all. Those fools in DOGE have no clue what either of those things are related to our government. It is about theft of our money and information, tracking people they don't like, cruelty, and destruction of our nation and our democracy. Pretending it is anything else is just that, pretense. They, the super rich who are orchestrating most of this insanity, want power, control through cruelty and fearmongering, and above all, money and they got Toddler-Trump into power again to get all three and more if they can arrange it. It is up to We the People to stop them through boycotts, demands that our local and state law enforcement stop ICE, and we protest every chance we get.
Judith, I like your flame-thrower analogy. Everyone knows it's not and has never been about "efficiency." Like everything else Republicans name, it is exactly opposite of what the group DOGE was supposed to do. They are about theft, destruction, cruelty, and destruction of our democracy so ignoramuses who are too rich like Musk, Theil (both recent citizens), and the rest of the far far too rich oligarchs can rule with Trump as their puppet king. We need the law enforcement from the states that actually care about life in this nation and our democracy to step up and arrest the destroyers, maybe trading them for the men sent to El Salvador without due process. OK, I am joking there, but only a bit.
Judith, you are right about the Nazi lists. The people with autism and/or their families should personally sue RFK,Jr. and anyone else involved with making such a list or stealing the information from projects that are supposed to be confidential. Maybe if they are personally held accountable for their bad behavior. some of it will stop. Nobody who cares would approve their information to be gathered by a brain-wormed idiot or anyone else.
It also occurred to me to wonder when/if they will also want to categorize and register children born with Down's Syndrome. Would they even understand (or care about) the difference between autism or Down's? After all, Down's children also are neuro-divergent from what some would define as "the norm".
Judith, the sad part is that none of those involved in the decision-making and proposals has a clue about the difference and wouldn't care if they did know. It is about control, cruelty, doing harm, and fearmongering, not about health, care, or support for those who are in either group.
Russell, it seems in his pure but gleeful ignorance, RFK,Jr. has decided along with his stupid cronies that autism is some kind of crime caused by those people's parents bad parenting or vaccines, or something else that RFK can't seem to figure out because his brain is fried. None of those things are true, well except for the Trump Klan's ignorance. People with autism or any other neurodivergence are good people with challenges that We the People can learn to appreciate and make life easier for. The Trump Klan of toddlers have no clue what they are talking about and are doing enormous harm because of their stupidity and above all, cruelty. We need a movement to support neurodivergent people, appreciating their diversity and their contributions to our communities. Stop the blaming and fake programs to pretend vaccines are causing autism and actually provide programs that work, which will help not harm.
I used to work in the UK government with a rather reserved colleague with Aspergers. He was employed by our Housing Statistics division to pore over reams of housing stats for typological errors - the kind of stats that would make most people's head spin. He was their fail-safe and he could proof-read all the annual housing stats before publication over the course of a couple of days.
While RFK is obsessing with autism and vaccines, he's ignoring infectious diseases like measles and pertussis which are increasing due to vaccine hesitancy and disinformation.
Russell, I am often amazed at the abilities of neurodivergent people of all types. They have so much to offer and if given good support, they are terrific members of the community. I am furious that more people are not standing up to RFK's stupid ignorance about, well just about everything. It turns out he is just the kind of person Trump wanted for his cabinet. Toddler-Trump has a whole cabinet of ignoramuses and incompetents. That must make cabinet meetings impossible or maybe just a Trump show which Trump won't remember ten minutes after he leaves the room due to his dementia.
Trump was somewhat in awe of Musk, I think mainly because he was fabulously wealthy and successful in a way that he (Trump) could only dream of and also because he used that wealth to help secure Trump's election victory. He's seems to have overcome that surprising deference lately and Musk is slowly retreating to the sidelines. RFK was rewarded with high office mainly for endorsing Trump during the election campaign and abandoning his own campaign. His family name also carries a certain aura of which Trump must have been aware. But like everyone in Trump's cabinet of sycophants he is vulnerable to Trump's capriciousness and much will depend on how successful he is at reforming the various health institutions without completely disabling the country's ability to resist another pandemic. Few within those institutions are hopeful and many are speaking out against him. If the spotlight turns on him, as it has on Trump's beleaguered defence secretary, then he will not last long. Let's face it - Trump's first 100 days have been so deeply catastrophic that some believe he will not recover. He will soon begin the inevitable process of looking for others to blame.
As hard as it is to believe that this is where we are in the U.S, Trump and his people are now openly working (using taxpayer dollars) to cause people to report their religion to the U.S. government. We all should be on the same side of these issues. Our Constitution commands that each person's religion, religious affiliation(s) or sentiments for or against any religion be left to the dictates of such person's own conscience.
Jack, it almost seems those right-wing "christians" are so insecure about their religion they have to force people to "believe" what they believe to boost their credit with their god whatever that is. I think their god is money-power-control-cruelty. A lot of religious folks were caught up worshipping that god in the past, particularly in Medieval Europe and used in the conquest of indigenous peoples around the world.
It should be noted that the mad king has no religion. There are Christians and then there are Christians. I have many Christian friends that want nothing to do with this monster. They are what I might refer to as 'real' Christians. Rafael Warnoch comes to mind. The 'new Christian right' formed from the evangelicals of the Franklins flavor, or all the way back to the Father Coughlin flavor, have moved to the far far right. These are the people who talk of persecution because they want everyone to think like them. Otherwise, you are not worthy of walking around on this planet. The guy in the WH will take anyone that will show him fealty no matter who they are. Proud Boys, criminals, anti-semites, it matters not to him. He has found a willing group of so called Christians that is large and will use them as he uses anyone and everyone. And, by the way, the mad king in the I don't give a shit mode. Destruction is his cause.
J. Busby, you are right about Trump having no religion, well, except maybe himself. Money, power, cruelty, and self-absorption are his gods. That is why I thought it hypocrisy for Trump to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, a man who did not approve of Trump's bad behavior and hatreds of so many.
AMEN Ruth! I say put the Beatitudes on everything everywhere, that could/should be the litmus test….and no major religion would disagree with the principles. Of course that would empty DC……oh darn
Sharon, The Beatitudes would be far better to have in public places than "The 10 Commandments." They're about love and care rather than rules about how to worship God, along with rules that people relish in breaking while making excuses for killing, stealing, lying, coveting, and rape.
I am totally against the Trump Administration. Is not doing anything productive to solve any of the nation's problems, but I can't agree that there is never discrimination against Christians. Would you hire a person who wore a cross to work for you?
Yes. I don't see it as choosing to broadcast it at their place of work (as Bonnie MacEvoy wrote) but as an expression of their personal religious choice as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. Wearing a cross, a kippah or Star of David should never be a factor in determining whether or not to hire someone. That would, indeed, be discriminatory.
No, because they are choosing to broadcast it at their place of work, which is usually a place where everyone - co-workers and clients alike - deserve to be seen without bias. Exception might be a Catholic hospital, where many wear and display crosses, but they are up front about their dogma (which procedures they will do, etc.).
So Jews can't wear a kippa or a star of David necklace, and Sikh men cannot wear a turban or a beard, which is a requirement of their religion. In other words, to participate fully in America you must dress secularly at work. That's not my vision of a prejudice free America.
From copilot:
Sikh men have gained the right to wear a beard and turban while serving as police officers in various places. For example, in 2015, Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal of the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Texas became the first Sikh officer in the department to be allowed to wear his turban and beard on duty. This was made possible through a religious accommodation policy, which allowed him to observe his faith while serving as a law enforcement officer. This marked a significant step toward inclusivity and religious tolerance in law enforcement.
Betsy, it won't matter what those blondies wear or don't wear; everyone will know they practice pseudo-christianity because they look the part and sound it whenever they open their mouths.
Point taken. For some reason, I did not equate the Sikh garb (which I heard Ajaypal Singh Banga, the president of World Bank group, tell of in an interview on C-SPAN - a rather complicated ritual of dressing that was fascinating in his description) as a religious statement. Banga was one of the most eloquent men I've heard speak.
Yes, they don't do tubal ligations, among other things. Which is why my youngest brother was born in a community hospital, rather than the Catholic one where his four older siblings were born. My mother's doctor told her another pregnancy would likely be fatal; but that didn't matter to those caring Catholics. So, yes, in most work places religious symbols just don't belong. Any religious symbols.
I had the same birthing experience for the same reason, I am not RCC but treasured the care received there….last birth went well at community hospital. Aside, Nixon/Kennedy debate took place while in St Jude hospital. The Nuns found a lot of excuses to ‘care’ for me during those debates. They were enthralled with JFK and I was the only patient watching the debate
James, I am OK with people wearing a cross or any other religious symbol or anti-religion symbol in the workplace if it is inobtrusive. If the person wearing the symbol ends up preaching to co-workers in conversion style or performs actions that insult co-workers for their "lack of faith" or anything like that, they could be gently reminded that all religions or non religions are welcome in the workplace without bias. We need to be able to reason with our fellow human beings, particularly in a nation where so many nations, cultures, religious traditions are present. Denying one's religious expression or pretending it does not exist except in church, synagogue, mosque, or other religious building, is also unamerican. We the People can handle this as long as we don't let the ideologues make up the rules about how one's faith or non-faith are expressed.
I don't mind if they get rid of negative bias against Christianity as long as they do so for any religion - including atheism, humanism, agnosticism - and any pro bias at the same time. No favoritism, right?
they love playing the victim - because then their base can feel victimized by people who don't look exactly like them and will support them - the fuel of the right is hatred.
And the darkness spreads. It must be so hard, Joyce, to see the DOJ being purposely torn down, and I grieve to see it. I'm a Christian and I don't believe Christians are discriminated against AT ALL in this country. I think a number of Christians have been politicized to the point that they equate others simply not agreeing with Christianity as some form of persecution smh. That is bizarre in many ways, and in fact, we used to just call that being a free country. I understand it as soul freedom given to every person by God. If I try to take it away from someone else, then it can in turn be taken from me, and God is the only one privy to our soul's convictions. Religious freedom is for everyone, or else it belongs to no one. God help us.
If a so-called christians has trouble with someone disagreeing with them, they have a real problem, IMO. They are not real Christians who believe in helping the poor and needy, being kind to the outcasts and "others". I agree that they are not discriminated against in this country.
Yup! Turning everything inside out and upside down so they end up as what they are doing to others. (I hope that came out understandable.) The saddest part, perhaps is how many people believe them.
In addition to the infuriating press releases, I’d like to point out that DE&I practices are not “illegal”. The Convicted Felon issued an EO, which only impacts Executive branch divisions.
All in exact compliance with their bible, Project 2025. Its intention is to destroy everything that worked in this country and replace it with toady's idea of heaven: all him all the time, and he gets to say what the law is.
Trump’s has now made the White House in 2025 the Whitest place in our federal government.
The DOJ will no longer open cases involving police shootings of unarmed Black Americans
The DOJ will no longer seek punishment or sanctions against Police Departments across America that have extensive incidents of police misconduct etc etc
White racists like Trump emboldened more White racists …. During the Civil Rights Era of America our law enforcement agencies frequently intimidated and harassed Civil Rights workers with immunity , I expect even worse from the DOJ and now law enforcement agencies in America
Look around and there is an obvious absence of Black Americans in the inner circle of Trump, no lawyers, nor advisors not even a driver
Trump has created a silo that excludes Black Americans in any pivotal decision making process that creates policy in our nation
Trump has no interest in the lives of Black Americans except his deliberate assault on DEI across the spectrum of our federal government including high ranking Black Americans in our military
This policy of racial segregation in the White House is outrageous and unacceptable and at its core disgraceful and extremely disturbing ….
Let us not forget that according to a couple of European standards, Desis are White, but until recently, were not treated as such.
The past gov of S Carolina helped herself by converting to a christian sect.
A wave of both Blue and Red Desis has swept into elections without hardly a racist remark, but then, I don't see everything.
And speaking of and from San Francisco: Our Local Desi climber, Harmeet Dhillon, got only a little blowback from ultra-reactionary Reds when she was accused of praying to the wrong god at the RNConvention. She apparently should have specified "Xian" god. (Dhillon is Sihk.)
She's now AsstAG for Civil Rights in DOJ. Over the past 3 decades in San Francisco I have grown accustomed to ignoring her as leader of the county GOP. I fear I may have to listen to her now - but I resolve, only when Joyce finds it necessary to invoke her.
Meanwhile, I await our local Desi Blue star, Kamala of the Coconut trees, to make her move.
For the way I handled 'Desi', I was making a puzzle, trying to lead readers to Kamala's name and coconuts meme as the end to unraveling the meaning for anyone who didn't know.
Because I'm inclined to be fairly literal, I simply looked up the word. Then, last night, I spoke with a neighbor who is from south India and told him that I had learned this new term. He confirmed the reference but said that Deshi is the preferred term (at least in his former neck of the woods). He said that Deshi is considered a positive term, lacking the more neutral term Desi. He pronounced the 'de' as 'dee shi'.
The Indian nation is a conglomerate of linguistic differences colliding. In the eastern US, we used to be that way until TV networks smoothed out most regional dialects. I grew up in Washington, DC, hearing an astonishing range of Southern dialects, and as a kid I briefly met a guy whose conversation I did not understand at all: John F Kennedy's Bostonian upper-class dialect. I assumed he wasn't from "here" and I was sortof kinda right! He was just then running for president; then seeing him on TV for 3 years attuned me. Still, though, each time a crow flies overhead, I hear his voice. You know, pahk tha kah.
In San Francisco and in media broadcasts, I first heard 'Desi' as the long-ago husband of Lucille Ball said his name: Desi as in Arnaz. In fact, when the word first started in use for people from India, I thought 'I Love Lucy' was having a revival. Sounds stupid, but it's true.
(Once, my family from southern Japan spoke a dialect sooo distant from what became the national standard "Tokyo Dialect" that into the 1970s "southerners" were said to speak unintelligibly. My uncle told me that as a kid in the California Central Valley, he grew up on Tokyo dialect; when his mom tried to teach him Kagoshima-ben (dialect) he thought she was kidding so didn't take it seriously! He said it was full of long vowel sounds, perhaps like 1950s kids heard outer space aliens speak in the movies.)
Well, thanks for the memories, hope you have fun with them.
Black Jewish Students have more to worry about than White Jewish students at Harvard
They encounter racism from within the Jewish Diaspora of course that is not discussed
They frequently are on the end of the Yiddish N-Word ( Schvartze is a racial slur for black people in the Yiddish language) for speaking up and defending Palestinians
Trump and his cohort are not limiting their deliberate assaults on Black Americans but focusing on anyone with skin darker than their own. Also, their definition of DEI extends to recognition or acknowledgement of accomplishments, historical or contemporary, by anyone of color, of a sexual orientation that doesn't match their belief in only M/F gender, or of ethnic origin they dislike. Seems to be getting broader and deeper every day.
What can I say. I will continue with my own protest on Saturday at my state capital from 12 to 2 with my own sign. Hartford, Connecticut every Saturday that I can manage. I’ll be alone.
Trump is a bigot and it is obvious he has deep contempt especially for Black Americans
Trump deliberate Anti-DEI edicts and his racist comments about both Alvin Bragg and Letitia James was extremely disturbing because very few prominent White Lawyers were critical of Trump ‘s comments
yes, by all means let's protect this new & improved Christianity that we see all around us. You know the one that forces women to bleed out in the parking lot while they wait to be sick enough for care when they are miscarrying. Or isn't that the same one that wants to cut Medicaid, Medicare & Social Security. It seems like the new Christian thing to do is to stop providing food to starving people in the world, cut SNAP benefits here at home. Then there's Pepfar being eliminated or helping poor countries fight disease that can spread throughout not only their own regions but surprise those diseases can come here too. But that's OK the new Christians will protect you, well, if you believe in their form of religion & your the right color, the right sex, the right nationality. Yeah, let's do protect that form of religion so all those poor white men can work while their pretty little wives stay home & pop out kids every year or less. Keep the little woman at home taking care of the home & kids while white, daddy goes out to work & play as well. Sure this is just what we need.
Though the damage will continue to mount, we are not helpless. This is what we knew would happen. Our task is to refuse to cooperate with the lawlessness, resist the urge to give up, and ridicule their incompetent efforts to turn the United States of America into a dictatorship. No matter how bad it gets, we get more fierce in protecting everything we love. Others have had it worse, even here. Giving up is not an option.
How to survive? Join your local Indivisible or other local action-oriented grassroots group and join in for the action, and also the planning and leadership. Leaning into community. This is how we win.
Oh my, it is crumbling. Will we see another free and fair election. This is so perfectly planned, and no , this isn’t just” Trump, this is an attack and execution of our civil liberties. How do we Stop 🛑 this outrage? Oh my, how can this be happening. We have the brightest minds on our side, and still the trump train keeps whistling by, bye-bye! I’m 76, I’m in this because it is what Right! For my children, grandchildren, and my precious great-grandchildren. We haven’t a moment to lose. Not one moment!
Well Bondi is and always will be the president’s personal lawyer. And it has to be white Christian’s only. Other races and other religions don’t count. And to think this miserable excuse of a human is attending the Popes funeral makes me sick.

If only that 40% knew he hates dogs.
Most polling is BS. If you ask people whether they support a Russian takeover, I bet it's 5% or less.
Where were the white women in the November elections who disapprove of T and Company now? The sense of betrayal permeates the attempts at resistance.
I agree with you completely, especially the level at which trump should be polling.
Thank you for mentioning those three cretins. They need to be called out for their callousness. Evil they are.
Laurie, not a true Christian among the Trump Klan, not one!
Oh I love the size reference, it applies to brain and heart as well….and I don’t hate men just because they are men…..they have to earn that disgust
I didn't quite go there, but I love your saying that. You gave me a good laugh.
I have always thought that the Amazon logo, that is supposedly a snake, looks extremely phallic.
Given who I am, what I have lived through, I'm surprised it took me so long to see that. Snake? Is he kidding?
Note that his Blue Origin spacecraft is even more phallic than the Amazon logo.
I agree. I didn't realize that the Blue Origin spacecraft belonged to Bezos. It makes perfect sense that all his symbols would be phallic.
Recent examples of what you've so vividly described, Ruth, are R.F. Kennedy's plan to create a registry of autistic people launched on Monday by that 'herd immunity' crackpot, NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, collecting data without the consent of autistic people - an initiative with ugly historical parallels, ; and the research project launched by RFK, headed by a vaccine denier, to discover the causes of autism (or rather to confirm RFK's own appalling views on autism).
https://www.axios.com/2025/04/23/autism-registry-rfk-nih
Meanwhile, the measles epidemic rages on with over 800 cases and two deaths (the largest outbreak since 2000, the year the US officially eliminated the disease. Thus is being virtually ignored by the NIH and CDC -
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cdc-scraps-plan-to-help-texas-schools-curb-measles-more-layoffs-loom/
Just saw this from Judd Legum at Popular Information: https://popular.info/p/the-doge-deception?publication_id=1664&post_id=162006499&isFreemail=false&r=712xe&triedRedirect=true
I agree. I wonder what Musk thinks of all this? And what about the so-called savants like Temple Grandin (and Musk himself)? -
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6186137/
They are cherry-picking the parts of Christianity they can broadcast to sound pious, but they are only coming up with rotten tomatoes.
As hard as it is to believe that this is where we are in the U.S, Trump and his people are now openly working (using taxpayer dollars) to cause people to report their religion to the U.S. government. We all should be on the same side of these issues. Our Constitution commands that each person's religion, religious affiliation(s) or sentiments for or against any religion be left to the dictates of such person's own conscience.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/looked-like-a-scam-trump-admin-asks-college-employees-if-they-re-jewish/ar-AA1DviX5?ocid=msedgntp&pc=LCTS&cvid=29ee5076ac314b1ce0a078dd1d23bdfe&ei=18
That’s giving rotten tomatoes a bad rap!
Right on, Ruth!
This marked a significant step toward inclusivity and religious tolerance in law enforcement.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/texas-deputy-who-wore-sikh-turban-beard-job-killed-during-n1059866
Then I want all the blondies in the White House to stop wearing crosses.
Betsy, it won't matter what those blondies wear or don't wear; everyone will know they practice pseudo-christianity because they look the part and sound it whenever they open their mouths.
This is where I meant to put my “GOOD POINT”
Good point
True that
No. Why do they need to display their religion? They are looking for an inroad.
American Pharisees.
Amen, Ruth!
I don't mind if they get rid of negative bias against Christianity as long as they do so for any religion - including atheism, humanism, agnosticism - and any pro bias at the same time. No favoritism, right?
they love playing the victim - because then their base can feel victimized by people who don't look exactly like them and will support them - the fuel of the right is hatred.
as is a large part of christian history
Looking for some brave Republican congressmen and women to stand up to the traitors in the White House and Dept of Justice. Any one? I thought not. 😢
Bueller? Bueller?
Their playbook is always being the victims
They are dismantling everything that really mattered and replacing it with greed and vitriol! And we are less than 100 days in..

He also doesn't go any where near LGBTQ people, either. IMO, a cockroach is smarter than trump and any of his minions, all put together.
I had to look this up because I didn't know the term Desi, and I may not be alone in that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desi
Thanks for the note.
For the way I handled 'Desi', I was making a puzzle, trying to lead readers to Kamala's name and coconuts meme as the end to unraveling the meaning for anyone who didn't know.
Hope you enjoyed the process.
Hey thanks! Glad you asked your friend.
I'd discount it, however.
"The Indian nation is a conglomerate of linguistic differences colliding."
Which is why I qualified my comment with (in his neck of the woods).
Greg/BLM
Trump and his cohort are not limiting their deliberate assaults on Black Americans but focusing on anyone with skin darker than their own. Also, their definition of DEI extends to recognition or acknowledgement of accomplishments, historical or contemporary, by anyone of color, of a sexual orientation that doesn't match their belief in only M/F gender, or of ethnic origin they dislike. Seems to be getting broader and deeper every day.
Nice to know that Trump has solved ALL civil rights problems except voter fraud and discrimination against Christians. I feel so much safer now.

I don’t know if it’s advantageous to paint all Christian’s with the same brush. Hating them all will just get us more hate.
total control ...which all religion is about.
And it appears that's exactly what they want
Nothing about Trump is civil….unfortunately this should not come as a surprise.
‘Religions’ don’t count with Trump. Just the one made up of zealots who traded God for MAGA.
perhaps the light will be visited upon him......God works in mysterious ways....wink wink
Me too!
