I loved hearing that Bob reminded new citizens to not forget where they came from. It reminded me of an experience I had as an elementary school principal . One day prior to dismissing for Christmas , I was distributing cabdy canes to visiting parents. I noticed my beautiful Muslim parent and as not to insult her, I asked if she would like a cane. She said, of course , we celebrate everything. We have a Christmas tree at home." This led to another conversation.
Her husband was one of the top heart surgeons and they were so excited that her expected baby would be a son. She explained that she wanted to name him Muhammad but was worried about doing that in our town
She explained the honor that name carried to her family who were all still in the Middle East.
I told her to just name him Muhammad William and call him Billy and that would work. We both broke into laughter.
Our country is now too busy labeling everyone and hating anyone who is not a WASP. Shame on where we are these days
A bigot Presudent with a like cabinet filled with people who are no .ore qualified to hold those positions than I am. The FBI led by Patel in no way resembles that of Mueller. Glad to hear Joyce remind us there are still folks in the DOJ who are loyal to the law.
Easy to forget these days. Impressed that Joyce is visiting Mosque as a citizen of the community abd not as enforcement.
As Joyce always says, We are all in this together."
I absolutely love hearing about Mueller’s protection of Americans by having strict discipline with FBI members. He was a decent principled person unlike the imposter we now have.
Both of you bring such an incredible experience in working with DOJ and FBI. Both agencies have been hijacked now. After this is all over, I hope the public eventually hears about the chaos created at both agencies by the two most incompetent “leaders” we have ever had.
The imposter we have now does not even know the meaning of "decent," or "principled." When he says Robert Muller "can no longer hurt innocent people," I exclaim, ARE YOU CALLING YOURSELF INNOCENT? Then I mentally list all the people Trump has hurt, bur I soon run out of examples.
You have not only a brain, but also a sense of humor. And so does that student's mother. I wish you both many more happy years as a principal and as a mother.
Love you both. Have been thinking a lot lately how it’s possible to love people you don’t know in real life. You two, Jen Rubin, Harry Littman, Steve Vladeck, Paul Krugman. And Robert Mueller. People of integrity, honor, courage, compassion, and brains. If this country can be saved, it will be largely because of you.
Thank you for doing this on Robt Mueller. What an amazing man as well as a lifetime public servant. I was so glued to him & his work as Special Counsel. No question he is resting in well-earned peace. Thank you Mr Mueller for so much that you gave.
I worked for a Judge who was a combat leader in Vietnam and also never forgot all of those who died under him. In fact, he would call those men's mothers every year on Mother's Day. Those kinds of leaders, like Mueller, who serve the public with integrity, are sorely needed. And Joyce deserves all our praises too!
Why can't congress get JUDGE 'hot shot' CANNON to release part II of Jack Smith;s report? If the charges against others were dropped then if she doesn't release it then JACK SMITH should release it to the NY TIMES and have it published. what the hell is she going to do? take it to the SCOTUS. Her other appellate judges would tell her to just shut the F up. We want to see that report and then have Jack Smith testify as to how guilty Trump was. that search was 100% legal. Trump refused; then delivered but found out he still hid more. then he tried to flood the servers, show how damn guilty he was and would have gone to jail for treason. HAVE to show that prior to election. then use it for impeachment afterwards.
Thank you both for doing this tribute. Hearing that we have young people truly interested in reforming our judicial system felt so restorative. My grandfather was with the DOJ from the 30’s until he retired in the 60’s. To see what is happening now breaks my heart. But your words today lifted my spirit and gave me hope. Joyce, as an MOT who left AL years ago for a more diverse population, I give you a lot of credit for being there! :) Enjoy listening to you both!!
The more of these heartfelt tributes I hear by people I respect the more I realize how much I never knew about Director Mueller and I expect that he would have wanted it that way. He served our nation in so many ways: as a thrice-decorated Marine, Federal Prosecutor, Director of the FBI, Special Counsel, a role model and mentor for the people who worked for and with him, and more. His 12 year term as FBI Director was during some of the most turbulent times in our country’s history and he was quietly and modestly restoring the
public’s faith in the FBI and it’s ability to keep us safe. We could use someone like him now more than ever. He was poorly treated and his hard work and conclusions distorted by William Barr, a corrupt man incompetent to serve as our AG.
Thank you for sharing your personal thoughts, feelings and anecdotes of a Great American.
Our president’s thoughtless and cruel comments about his death that much more obscene and despicable in the light of the truth.
I was sorry the 45 min were up! The discussion made me teary-eyed at times both for what a great man Robert M was AND because it reminded me how far our country has fallen. Joyce can make me feel optimistic and then unfortunately reality brings me back to earth. Thank you Joyce and Andrew for a wonderful start to my day!

He’s hurt all of us but definitely has brought racism and fascism to the forefront. I hate this Nazi regime.

The work you do is special. Trump and allies are corrupted.
Great to see you both teaming up. Robert M was a national treasure

How very lucky to have served with him.
Thank you for this beautiful remembrance of a beautiful person and legacy that was Robert Mueller.
I appreciate the mention that this is a new beginning for those of us who he inspired to serve. 💔❤️🩹

Thank you for highlighting to contributions of Robert Mueller. He set a high bar each of us should try to emulate.
I try, in my role as a member of our tiny town's Selectboard, to work fairly for all residents.
Beautiful reminder of Robert Mueller. We really need to get back to honesty and civility.

Great ‘Live’ and encouraging.
Thank you!
Thank you both! An honorable life well honored.
