A huge thanks to all of you who joined the chat -- and to Joyce, of course, for generously offering her time.

Please order a copy of my new book, "Black Out Loud: The Revolutionary History of Black Comedy from Vaudeville to '90s Sitcoms," at your favorite bookstore!

I've been watching the PBSNewshour for years. Still miss Gwen Ifill,...

Also ... All in the Family was important to shine a light on bigotry. Not a black comedy but was a window into the white prejudiced family in which I grew up.

I learned so much about Geoff Bennett that I had not known. I think I am more enamored of the PBS News hour than before. Going to read his book, too. I wish him more success. Thank you, Joyce, for having this. You are just the best!

Funny, I had gifted seats for theatre of the stars in Atlanta and sat in front of Andrew young. A happy moment. A great man.

For Geoff Bennett, Hope you can include Athens, GA, on your book tour or when you next visit Morehouse. PS: Wise to avoid ATL recently.

Can't we do this again with a range of other minorities?
