I’ll be here for you all week with an emotional support chicken or two, starting here with Pepper here, enjoying my breakfast this morning. And yes, that’s a purr at the beginning. She loves talking to the birds and the squirrels.
Pepper was happy to have me for support this morning, too, because molting is hard work. You look raggedy, and you need extra attention. But it did not occur to me that she, one of our two oldest chickens and incredibly sweet, would turn biscuit thief. I guess it’s the protein needed to grow all of those feathers back!
Watching this, it’s easy to believe chickens have dinosaur ancestors.
If you have a favorite among our chickens, let me know, and I’ll try to get pictures for you. I know I feel a lot better after hanging out with an emotional support chicken!
We’re in this together,
Joyce
We all could use a support chicken like Pepper. What a purr!
Thanks for helping us stay off the ledge, Joyce!
