Sixty-one years later — where’s the reporting of outrage (over the daily aberrations)? Where’s the press?

Joyce, I was 14 years old when that incident occurred. Born and raised in NC, our small rural town awaited for the riots to occur. They didn’t happen but tensions were high because our schools did not integrate until 1964 when LBJ declared that segregation must cease. After that occurred, in 1969, I high-tailed it out of town opting for Washington, DC where my eyes were full of exploration and excitement. The Vietnam War was going on and as a college student, I participated in moratoriums marching from the Washington Monument to Pennsylvania Avenue. Nixon was in power and he was a handful. Fast forward to now and I can say that I have never stopped participating in anything that wasn’t fair or equitable. I joined Indivisible when they established themselves in 2016 and have remained with the group. I do not hold any positions with ReSisters, however, I am usually at mostly all of our Saturday protests for 2 hours. The camaraderie is what I look forward to with people of all ages. We are on a mission and we’ve vowed not to give up until we get rid of this regime. We knew it was going to be bad but we didn’t know just how bad it would get. Daughter of Holocaust victims here and I will NEVER give up or give in!
